There is lots of speculation about the alleged Ducati 799 that may be being planned in Borgo Panigale at the moment. If we connect the dots and look at Ducati’s roadmap, surely Ducati are planning on a smaller capacity version on the 1199 Panigale. Nobody yet knows (outside of Ducati) what is will actually be called or what it will look like.
Designer Oberdan Bezzi has provided a concept of the bike which looks interesting. The motor is the DesmoDue air-cooled powerplant that is currently in the Hypermotard & Monster category.The concept still features the trellis frame. How about lightweight air cooled Ducati?
