  1. Hi all,

Just wondering what sprocket set up everyone operates?

I'm planning a 15 front 40 rear. Does anyone have any experience with this? If so, what chain do you use?

    Cheers

  2. I am running 14/39 at the moment. It is ok and first gear isn't so long now and not so much clutch work to pull away. I don't want top end speed. I have read on other forums about so many combinations people are using.
    Cheers,
    Steve.

  3. Cheers Steve. I've done a fair bit of looking about at other forums too. I'm settled on the 15-40 combo. The only question I have now is about chain links - I'm wondering what length to get. The bike I have came with a 15 - 40 combo and what appears to be a 96 link chain.

Do you use the standard chain?

  4. Will do NZdave. Cheers

  5. I'm running with the stock gearing on my 750 (15/37).........

I don't find it much of a problem around town........

......if the erratic behaviour of a Ducati at low revs is common to all, then all you will do by altering the sprockets, is move the erratic behaviour to a different rev range....

  6. Others seem to report that the erratic behaviour mainly affects low speed low rev town driving - as in needing to use a lot of clutch action when taking off slowly. I estimate I'll be using it in town approximately 0.1% of the time. All I'm thinking (and have seen others posting) is that she'll be a bit more happy to lift the front, and have shorter gearing for the tight twisties up here.

  7. completely agree, bog standard for me, just stick to second gear under 30mph

  8. I'm running 14/43 on my 900. Great around town and gets to 100+ in no time at all
