Just ordered a pair. What a silly price! Chinese govt. subsidised to wreck our manufacturing base? Gotta wonder..
I suppose it is possible that the original levers are manufactured for them in China but not all those made find their way to the people who ordered them. That is, 500 get ordered but 600 get made... Crofty, while it is fresh in your mind, I wonder if you could detail what you needed to do in order to swap??
So, levers arrived from Hong Kong today and all installed. They look brilliant, so much better than the rather ungainly oem jobbies. I went for discreet black which, with the red adjuster mechanism, looks plenty blingy enough for me. Unfortunately though, I did tear the boot on the brake side. It would not let the plunger slide through, so I thought I'd try pulling the boot out of the housing, so I could push it onto the plunger and then back into the housing. When I tugged at it though, the boot just tore. Does anybody know if you can get new ones?? I've stuffed plenty of grease in both halves for the moment...
Not on there own unfortunately. You have to buy a master cylinder "repair kit" Pricey in the UK - Brembo - Radial Master Cylinder - Repair Kit (10.4266.60) - Performance Motorcycle Parts - Cheaper from the US - kurveygirl.com - Dzus, Vesrah, Brembo, Spring Clips and More - BREMBO GP MK2 Repair Kit: Crash Rebuild Kit (110.4266.60)
Thanks Derek, As you say, rather cheaper from the States! I wonder if my friendly local Ducati race preparation specialist might have a s/h one... (That's where I got my spare friction plates for the quiet clutch mod )
Good find. I was aware that many Brembo parts could be got from KTM but didn't know which models have the radial m/cylinders

Got this from another Ducati Forum. Pictures on there of the original Ducati/ Brembo part and what he got with this KTM part number and they were identical. I googled the part number and got a KTM dealer describing the part as a rubber cup and pricing it, I think, at £3.60

I suspect it's called a rubber cup because that is the direct translation from the German, rather than being named by an English speaker according to usual English language descriptions of mechanical parts. At that price I can order one and hope it's the right thing.
KTM Replacement Master Cylinder Boot This should work for the following Ducatis: MONSTER S4R/S4RS '06-'08 MONSTER 1100 '09 749/999 '03-'06 848 '07-'09 1098 / 1198 '07-'11 Streetfighter '10-'11 It's exactly THE SAME as the Ducati Brembo boot . . . looks the same, feels the same, fits the same!! Here are side by side pics of the torn Ducati Brembo boot (left) and the KTM Brembo boot (right). And, a pic with the KTM Brembo boot in the Ducati Brembo master cylinder. KTM part number is 61013008000. The above is copied from a Ducati.org posting. I will try and show the photos next.
