  2. I absolutely agree about the lol! Why would someone denigrate you for liking a bike. And why would we want to call people "plastic bikers" as I am sure I read elsewhere. Surely variety should be the spice of life for bikers and we should ALL be proud if someone buys ANY bike on the level that the more people who are motivated to go buy bikes, the less it will be a marginalised, legislated against, not seen at the junction when I pulled out kind of activity??

I'm personally delighted to see more interest in bikes for a long time. The Japanese manufacturers seem to have woken up, BMW are continuing to plough an interesting furrow. It's all good if it gets people thinking 2-wheels.

Or am I just taking forum comments too seriously?!? It is possible :)

Oh, and as for the actual topic in question, I've rode a pre-production test mule earlier this year (on a track) and it was very nice indeed!

  3. Not long back from the NEC, I can see myself ordering a Full Throttle to add to the HYM SP.

    Sorry.

There is only one problem with ordering the new scrambler......
And that is that you'll have to sport a 70's porn star moustache.

  8. I quite like the yellow base model. No funds, but like it. Could commute on that (not now, its multi distance territory!)

  10. As of today, yes, and by no means the first at the dealer either.

So look forward to the spring when a Full Throttle will join the HYM SP.

    Let the haters hate

  17. Hmm - each to his own - ordered a Red Icon as soon as they were released - I have a Diavel and a Multi pp- so this fits in nicely :) - saw it at the show for the first time and was delighted - should be here early Feb

  18. Agreed. I put a deposit on a classic a couple of weeks ago but I've been a bit reticent to own up 'cause it looked like I'd get slagged on here. I'm ordering it with the low bars and low Termi exhaust as in this thread.
I already have a Multi 1200 for serious touring and also a 907ie. I see the Scrambler as a lightweight bike I can use for local runs and as an every day fun bike. They are also the last of the air-cooled engine and are only Euro3 compliant so how long will they be produced for?

  19. That beast is not exactly comparable though is it?! Scamblers are a bit too comfortable, friendly, and 'lifestyler' for me but I think they will be a success for that reason. I'd happily go to work on one if it was sitting in the garage.

  20. Saw an oroginal one tjos week while waiting for a meeting and they were shooting a Ducati ad or something

I like the look of the new one still. If i bought one, happily own up to it and ride it to a ducati meet
