749r Little Oil Leak

  1. I'v just noticed a few little drops of oil on the garage floor this evening.

    I put my hand inside the fairing and it's a bit oily !

    I'm hoping it's not too serious but I'm fearing the worst.

    What's the worst and best case scenario for my poor little bike and of course the cost ?

  5. First check would be the oil filter for tightness.

  6. Check the oil cooler hoses and unions.

  12. The only oil leak I have had came from the breather at the back of the vertical cylinder .

  14. Has it been standing for a while ? My 999s had a similar small oil leak that stopped once the engine got warmed up. Never had the problem again.

  15. I'v only got a little one Peter, so I'v never needed vaseline !

    I rode it last weekend and about 4 weeks ago !

  17. My 999s had a leak from 1 of the oil cooler hose connections , where the fitting connected to the engine .
