Ok children, I didn't want to do this BUT over the past 72 hours certain members have been making a nuisance of themselves, calling names, trading insults etc etc. and more often than not its under the influence of drink, or because of winter boredom. I've had to step in on more than one occasion to try and resolve stuff and I don't want to do that as I believe people should be grown up enough to sort things out themselves. But obviously you all can't. This poor and bad behaviour affects members and the site. And I won't let that happen. We have lost two members in the past 72 hours who wanted to leave completely because of this childish behaviour. This has got to stop. I want to grow the membership of the site for the benefit of its members! And before we get shouts of "this has become a dictatorship" I cannot allow, and nor would Matt have allowed before me, the "few" to spoil the experience for the "many". If I see or am pointed to any contentious and/or abusive posts, or any posts that deliberately set out to annoy or abuse other members then the culprit will be warned, suspended or banned. No ifs or buts! This is a great site with lots of information, technical expertise and character. Let's keep it that way. Thank you for your support.
Thanks for this El T. Just one thought. Bad behaviour can be a symptom of personal problems getting on top of an individual, and amounts to a cry for help. In addition to warning, suspending and banning, perhaps helping and advising could also be offered.
Good point Pete. Help and advice is also on offer if anyone feels that I or anyone else on the forum can help. This is after all, a community of like minded people, and, hopefully, friends
Thank you El Toro.I support you in this,as I was also thinking of leaving this forum.My social life is very limited due to chronic illness and periods of depression and I find this Forum a great help in keeping in touch with the great family of Ducati people. I sometimes need the means of letting off steam and do not want to feel that I might get the piss taken out of me. The vast majority of people on here are great online companions-long may it remain so.
Good post El T. Nobody minds a bit of banter and the odd piss take and despite the odd sense of humour failure from some recipients, it should be received in the manner it was intended. However, when it crosses the boundary and becomes aggressive or even malicious, it is then unacceptable and the those people need to be dealt with.
Well done... Not before time. Had thought it was time to exit soon too. Its a fairly common condition of most forums to turns into a mud slinging site as cabin fever sets in.

Hold on, what have i missed? I dont visit every thread as some dont interest me so sounds like ive missed all this.
It was going a little off topic the other night wasnt it.I hope banning is a last resort option.Hopefully a northern tongue lashing is sufficient.We all say rubbish we shouldnt,especially when alcohol is involved.I hope no-one would really contemplate leaving the forum over it.Although I considered it myself when Matt moved on.
