  4. I was going to chip in even though I don't, but I see that guy so aptly called 'ignored member' has been here already, so I will leave. Hope he was helpful for you - if so let me know and I will think about unblocking him :)

  5. Oh, from the above post, posted the same as mine, it looks like he is still being a bit of a mollusc :(

  6. I think he's weird.

  16. As I scoot around in my nimble car or on my nimble bike, I often spare a thought for HGV drivers. The skill they have on narrow roads is amazing. Imagine driving one of those things through central London, or worse still, Milan or somewhere with the steering wheel on the wrong side. Respect. Bus drivers aren't shabby either.

  17. I think we can all accept the need for HGV ( especially in the UK where successive governments have run the railways down ) but having driven both HGV and PSV in my time and having to deal with them on a daily basis on non dual / non dual carriageway roads I cannot agree about them having any outstanding abilities , in fact are generally self obsessed bullys with minimum driving ability ,whom I see regularly driving in poor / dull / wet conditions with no lights and regularly convoying and not permiting overtaking, of course I don't mean all of them, but a very large percentage,, eg,, on daily 30 ml drive from PH to AB about 80% of hgv do not have driving lights on, irrespective of conditions and are generally stuck up the rear of another one making overtaking more difficult,,, the day of the lorry driver being the " knight of the road " are long long gone.

  18. Random question... But no. I'm a northern lad so don't often visit the smoke but when I have been there using the black cabs I've been impressed with their social skills. And they must be ace in a pub quiz because they can rattle on about just about anything with a seemingly sound knowledge.

  19. I do think that banter is part of the Black Cab experience. If you get a quiet driver, it's nowhere near as fun. And as it's expensive, you want that fun - it's factored into the price.

  20. Never reply an email, thread, tweet etc when you're mad. Oh, and especially if you're pissed. It makes you look a tit. I know this from experience :D
