Just ridden for several hours in the pouring rain in France and bike has developed an issue. When i start the bike the dtc is on but as soon as i ride off it switches itself off!! Tried resetting to default, switching it back on but still the same result, pull off and it turns off. Not to bothered at the moment as my right wrist has always previously been my traction control but comcerned that is has developed another fault- 6 weeks into ownership ive had the back brake issue and fork seal replaced so dont need any further grief whilst in France. Spoke with Riders and they said 'its a new one on us' which wasnt to helpful. Has this happened to anyone else?
Someone reported this problem a while ago I think the fault was caused by a loose connector, just for info does it happen in all modes?
Haven't tried other modes, interestingly the fault seems to be linked with the heated grips, they were on at the time, turned them off and no longer a problem, turn them on and the next time I start it the fault returns ! confused .com
It'd be good to know what the cause of the problem was ;-) Another DTC issue, a really strange one, anyone heard of this before or have any ideas?..... .....just noticed refering to Touring mode and then Sport..........I'm not sure which but makes no sense either way.
....without reading the manual not a subject I know much about...........can you turn DTC off for individual Modes?....adjust the DTC levels in individual Modes, yes but I thought DTC was either On or OFF across the board? Enter SETTINGS by holding the bottom button in for 2 seconds > Use same button to scroll to DTC. > Press reset (turn signal button). > Press reset again to get to ON/OFF. On disconnecting the battery all setting default to factory defaults which from memory includes DTC being OFF (you'd think default would be on!!??
No. DTC "OFF" is total off in ALL modes. Check your DTC cable; a) for crimping inside the beak and under the lower triple clamp and b) that it hasn't become uncoupled from the brake hose at the front and rubbed against the disc rotor. They're only weeny little clips to marry them together. BTW the cable is £100.
Riders tracked my DTC fault down to 2 breaks in the cable loom to the front ABS sensor, took them all day to track it down but nailed it in the end.
