Recently I treated myself to a new 1199s, the bike standard looks stunning so why do I feel the need to stamp it with my own personal touches. I have listed the upgrades in to two categories, what I have already bought and what I seriously intend to buy for the old girl, the latter will not be done in one hit but spread over a year maybe more, but also dependent on how it looks as the extras are added Bought Stainless, Termignoni Upgrade to full system £960.00 Bought Aluminium, Rizoma Fluid tanks & Brackets £250.00 Bought Aluminium, ASV, Levers, £190.00 Bought Aluminium, Rizoma Fuel Cap £159.00 Bought Aluminium, Evotech Tail Tidy £149.99 Bought Acrylic, Puig Screen £69.99 Bought Aluminium, Evotech Radiator Guard Lower £55.99 Bought Aluminium, CNC Frame Caps £50.00 Bought Aluminium, Evotech Spindle Bobbin £44.95 Bought Aluminium, Rizoma Oil Filler Cap £43.00 Spent so far £1,972.92 To be bought Aluminium, CNC, Tyre Valve Caps £9.00 To be bought Aluminium, CNC, Bleed nipple caps £30.00 To be bought Aluminium, Probolt, Fairing nuts £55.00 To be bought Carbon, Carbon Conquest, Key Guard £99.00 To be bought Carbon, Fullsix, Street Line Shock guard £124.95 To be bought Material, Ducati, Store UK Comfort seat £159.99 To be bought Carbon, Limberger, Long hugger £226.00 To be bought Aluminium, CNC, Cush Drive Kit £484.95 To be bought Aluminium, CNC, Top Yoke Clamp £299.00 To be bought Aluminium, Rizoma, RRC Rearsets £529.95 Next Expenditure £2,207.84 By the time I have finished I will have spent an additional £3,990.76 I am now phoning around to see if I can get booked into a mental home
F**k it you can't take it with you , spend spend spend , enjoy, can we have photos of upgrades going on
I know mate but I would like a lifestyle too, you know the occasional drink or meal out I will be keeping a diary of whats happening and taking pic's at regular intervals
No not at all, she will look stunning when finished, this is not a bike I only intend to keep till next upgrade comes out, this is a long term keeper (18-24 months) kidding looking to keep this one for at least 5 years +
Do all that and it'll just look like everyone else's - jk Mind you mines so stealth nobody notices it so all a waste of money anyway - spend it on taking it to France and riding I
I intend to ride it, and the eye candy is not for other people it is for me, I really don't give a monkey's what other people think.
Worked out if I'd bought everything new and full price including mapping I would have spent nigh on 5k Mind you I don't need to justify it either plus I still have a 1/2 decent shoe collection - luckily not a big handbag fan - mwah
Also by the time you have finished you could have bought an R, but would probably have done the same to than, so, you could have bought an SL, but then probably done the same to that. Maybe you bought the right bike after all
Char, I take it that is on top of the price for the bike? And yeah no need for justification, it's like any passion. People with horses or go skiing will spend spend spend on their passion. You can only wear one pair of shoes at a time @finm have you seen the price of petrol, I filled up last night £1.05 here now
That's why I said the future upgrades will depend on how the bike looks after the last mod done, if it gets to a point where it looks tacky I will stop. There are only a couple of items that will be real noticeable at first glance and the rest will just be quite subtle and prob only noticeable if someone is giving it a good once over.
it's the price of 6 weeks of work with broken legs or frostbitten fingers that puts me off. that and i have just payed my income tax, proper skint now. wich might of contributed to my recent bad temper.
