848 Mirrors 2012 Evo Corse

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by Glynski, Sep 3, 2021.

  1. Hi ,I am new to the forum and am really struggling with the lack of view through the mirrors on my bike, I have contacted oberon regarding the extension kits and they advise that they will not fit ,at the moment the mirrors are 2 piece so I am not sure as to whether the optional ones are already fitted. Any help would be appreciated. Been away from bikes for 22yrs and now loving life again

  2. Hi Glynski.
Ducati supply mirror risers as I have them on my 848EVO.
It's just a longer version of the standard mirror stem.
    Try Riders of Bridgewater.
    Cheers.

  3. Cheers steveevo,I will have a look now.
    Thanks for the help:)

  4. hi, Just been down this route myself, Oberon extenders seem to be like "Rocking horse poo" nowadays i couldn't find any, it also turned out that my '13 model had the Ducati extenders already fitted so i've gone down the route of fitting bar end mirrors and removing the original mirrors and fitting fairing indicators in their place , loads better can see behind and they don't vibrate . its all reversible come sale time if required as well.

  5. As a thought I resolved the view issue on occasions by lifting my elbow out and looking under my arm instead of around.

  6. Also went down the route of bar end mirrors. Can you tell me where you got your fairing indicators from and do they need "adapting " to fit the existing connectors? Regards

  7. Hi, I got the Fairing indicators from EBay, there are quite a selection on there if you search, managed find the triangular LED ones that looked right, they were about £13 if i remember correctly. They cover the holes nicely where mirror fixed completely, looks factory.
As for fitting, I cut the original mirror cable below the plug and soldered the two wires in from the new indicators, if required the originals can be re fitted by soldering the wires back in, used shrink wrap to insulate and tidy up installation, all hidden by fairing trim. Also had drill out securing hole from 6mm to 8mm to fit new indicators but it wont make any difference if need re fit original mirrors at some point as they locate via 2 pins as well as the screw.
Hope that answers your questions ?

  8. Many thanks for your reply, almost exactly how I had imagined the installing. Regards

  9. Glad it helped, let me know how you go on if you get some .

  10. All went very smoothly in quick time until I stupidly chose to remove the screen to help route the wiring. Cue many searches for dropped nuts and bolts. Anyway all works perfectly.....I owe it all to you, Best regards P4300016.JPG
