Wolverhampton closed at the end of last season, people just don’t go speedway any longer in numbers to keep it alive.
Hadn't realised they'd gone. We were regulars at Wimbledon until the stock cars kicked them out, followed them to Eastbourne for a bit but that was a ball ache of a journey (and I believe Eastbourne has now gone). I'd occasionally take the bike down to reading if it was a decent meet, but Smallmead has long since gone I believe. Hackney was another one we visited that has gone. A lot used to share stadia with greyhound racing, I wonder if that has gone the same way?
No idea, I’ve not ever followed the dogs. Kid in same year group as me used to keep Greyhounds for racing.
Its a shame. Caught up on the uk speedway from mid week (bell vue v brum) last night, its a good chance to see world stars like Bewley perform in your "back yard".
