Bt Sport Price Hike ....

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Mikey G, Jul 2, 2015.

  1. Cancelled it, which was a trial in itself!

  2. To those cancelling... They are not allowed to charge you any kind of cancellation fee as they changed the deal on us. It was stated by them in the media that they would not charge anyone

  4. Booked my opt out for 31st July.

It not the amount but the principle. I switched to BT mostly to get the GP. Come August I'll switch now the perk has gone.

I ditched Sky as I was fed up of paying to watch adverts.

  5. For all you 'martyrs of principle' who are burning their BT contracts don't worry I'll make it my duty to post race results as soon as they happen that will save you waiting a week and a half later to watch it on some Botswanan free view channel.

  6. The races are shown on ITV4 the next day anyway.

As for the BBC licence fee, who is stupid enough to pay for one of those? Never had one and never will. The sooner the rest of the public wake up to this illegal scam the better.

  7. About 24000000 households is the best I can figure out by the vague info on Beeb website which is specific as to say that around 96% of uk homes have a TV license.... Big money. Much gain?

  8. That's right, we should all get top quality TV free of charge, it's our right as human beings.

  9. ........with no adverts.

  10. That in itself is worth my license fee, I hate watching commercial channels with shit ads for car insurance and rip off loans.

  11. The licence fee isn't enforcable by law, plenty of stuff on the interwebs about it :upyeah:

Why should I give the BBC my money when im not watching their live broadcasts? More fool all the poeple who do pay for one. Or haven't any of you read about the dwindling numbers of people not paying and how the BBC is making cut backs recently?

Advertising is everywhere, just record what you want to watch, then skip the ads when you get around to watching it simple.

  12. Catch up tv on sky is good for having no adverts on most programmes
I tend to use that to watch a lot of my stuff

  13. It's something like 40p a day for the licence and again it's worth it. So people are not paying TV licence fees and the BBC have to make cutbacks i.e. Make people unemployed, that's great I think I'll stop paying that way the number of unemployed rises and the quality of the BBC also falls, win win situation.

  14. If you don't 'have' to have a licence why have a couple of people I know had the TV detector people at their door and issuing fines.
I know you can say that you don't watch live TV but if you have a TV then they say you are able to watch it which needs a licence.
I would gladly not pay it, most programmes are crap and I don't listen to radio but a £1000 fine wouldn't be welcome.

  15. ITV = low IQTV

  16. As above, and as you don't need a licence all of a sudden will everyone who has been fined in the past be reimbursed by the BBC for being fined for not having a licence?

  17. So it's great that the BBC are trying to illegaly force everyone to give them £140 a year or whatever it is to pay all those people their high salaries? Get real! If they want to continue and pay for their existance instead of coning the public and trying to threaten them with fines and court procedings if we don't give them money advertise like everyone else does.

The same company that kept quiet about a certain grey haird paedo and you want to give them money that is great too!!

  18. There is no such thing as a detector van! How can you detect that somebody has a piece of equipment that receives a broadcasted signal? They only know you don't have a licence is through their database. If they turn up at your door tell them to piss off, they have no legal right to enter your property.

Search on youtube there is plenty of info on there to educate you ;)

  19. Just to point out, he said detector people. Yes the vans are myth but the people aren't. They still knock on doors and try and work out if you are watching live TV.
