1199 Panigale Footpeg Mod

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Flatfish, Jan 10, 2015.

  1. just 1098 and 1299, and superleggrera as far as i can see.

  2. peace of mind for me, and ducati need my money for the audi share holders :upyeah:

  3. Anyone fitted the 1299 ones yet ?

I attempted to fit a pair but cannot get the holes to line up. I think they must need a different spring as it appears to be this that stops them from fitting. They go on fine without the springs !

  4. Maybe you just need to compress a bit more

  5. i have 1299 pegs on mine, you really need the 1299 springs too, but 1199 do work . :upyeah:

  6. I found some pictures and the 1299 spring ends appear to go inside the area where the spring goes while the 899/1199 ones poke up and onto the top of the footrest.
The 1299 springs look a little smaller.
Cannot find a 1299 parts fiche to check the part numbers against the 899 springs.

  7. 1299 Springs are indeed shorter, and go inside peg. They are different to 1199/899.
I will post part numbers tomorrow.

  8. I have some new genuine 1299 pegs if anyone wants them? £110 delivered :upyeah:

  9. Ha ha errrr no ta mate, I want the these Rizoma pro ones, however they don't make the adaptors to fit my SF DP rearsets which are 3yrs old now :( However I took them down to a little machine shop and they are going to make me a set of adaptors so I can fit new pegs to my old rearsets and they will now be fixed pegs rather than the current folding ones.

  13. My fat fingers on my iPad lol . I was messaging Ian saying his pegs are 1098r pegs fitted with standard 1199 spring

  14. ha ha, yeah it works, but 1299 springs are better, probably the same as 1098R

  15. Just had a part-ex cross my path.... Some sort of R1 I think. Idiot mittens had obviously had more balls than talent and snapped the pegs at some point. The solution had been to bolt two plug sockets on, one either side, with a couple of coach bolts..... then angle grind the top face as a sop to 'grippiness' !

  16. Very soon Gia Moto will be having a look at making replacement pegs for the standard set up i know they use great materials and are nice quality

  17. I've heard that fixed pegs are a bad idea on the Panigle as the method of mounting makes the frame vulnerable to the forces that a crash with fixed pegs could generate. Might be worth just asking about this or reflecting before you go ahead.

  19. I had the ridiculously expensive (not fitted by me!) DP ones on my 899 and it was like my feet had been screwed to the damn things, they were awesome! I understand the 1299 ones are a direct fit though.

I just put these Ducabike ones on my 848 and they are grippy but they are a bit shorter (maybe 1cm) and they don't have a cutout for the spring, which doesn't effect me when riding but from an OCD perspective is killing me, they were only £65 though which is cheaper than a lot of other options.
