im thinking of a trip to Valencia for the last moto gp round so............anyone any experience, places to view at track, hotels, etc. muchas gracias
Only been to Valencia once on holiday a couple of years ago and was informed this was by far the best hotel in the City. I got a deal as we get the Ford rate through work but a fabulous place. Booking.com:Hotels in Valencia.Book your hotel now!&
Hotel Continentel in city centre near post office. Train to track is best, 5 min walk to station,15 minute journey to trackside station. Try to get grandstand on 1st bend thats where big screen is, there maybe more now, havent been for a few years. All tickets are seated and you can see most of track from anywhere.
Great circuit for spectating and even better for a track day, Valencia being Spains largest city there is an abundance of hotels. I have stated at Comfortel which was nice enough and also Hotel Expo which was at best ok. but does have a roof top bar and pool which redeemed it slightly. Great party atmosphere at the circuit as you, plenty going on.
Make sure you get tickets before you go as it's a sell-out. The cheapest seats are a million miles from the track, up on some rocks, where you will burn up as there is no shade. Other bits of the stands don't have any shade either. If you spend Saturday all day in the sun watching practice, you might not be feeling too enthusiastic about spending Sunday the same way, so organise some shade. It's hot down there.
Don't drive or ride, the car parking and access roads are managed by the local council. A 3 year old with a Leggo set would understand traffic management better. If you look on the GPTicketshop.com web site it will show you all the stands and where the big screens are even if you don't use them to buy tickets from. I have found them to be very reliable. Getting out on the Sunday will be a nightmare, when we were there in 2006 unofficial spectator numbers were over 100,000 and shifting that number of people is challenging. We decided to take a picnic and waited a couple of hours for things to quiten down. If the title is not settled by then like 2006 it will be an exceptional atmosphere and just hope Rossi doesn't fall off - again ! Andy
