1200 DVT Steering Lock Off

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by spannerman, Jul 30, 2015.

  1. Spannerman, when you say nothing happens, what are you expecting to happen. It's a genuine question, so please don't be offended.

  2. When you press the black button the display should illuminate and (assuming the key is absent) you should be invited to input the PIN code. If that does not happen, it is a fault which needs to be fixed by your dealer.

  3. Again mine was similar when battery played up, but I wonder if its because it has actually read it, it senses its close due to the miniclorians, and refuses to go into override. Soon as I took the key out of reach it worked fine

  4. Ok. I phoned Ducati Manchester today and a have arranged for it to be looked at first service on Monday. Mark the service manager told me he has had a few Multistradas in with the same faults. They will code read it on Monday to see whats going on. Meanwhile Iv'e set up the pin code on the bike to my own numbers and that side of things seems to be working fine now. I was posting to this forum on the side of the road while immobilised down in Whitchurch and the responses you lot gave me were quick and mega helpful. once again I thank you all and will keep you all posted on Monday evening....

  5. Bike now in dealership for first service and the immobiler/start/key system to be looked at, I shall keep all informed

  6. There's a bug with the keyless lock mechanism, Ducati had mine and at least another bike in which they replaced those. Have't had any issue with it after that.
Since this is a first year model - and given it's an Italian make bike - one should expect the average amount of stupid annoying bugs that would give you few grey hair but no serious harm on the bike

  7. So the bike went in for its first service and for the fault to be looked at on the immobilser keyless start. They replaced the full keyless unit. Ducati Manchester fixed the bike and all is right in the world again....
