Legislation introduced in the UK to prevent/reduce money laundering is primarily the reason why using relatively large sums of cash is now difficult. Interpretation and iplementation of the legislation by banks is the real reason the "relatively large" sums are now hundres of pounds. Try and deposit a wedge of cash ai Barclays and you are treated like a criminal having to explain the details of a ducks rear end how you got the money and where it came from. Even at least 1 Building Society is blaming the legislation for not being unable to take cash deposits. Having fallen prey to fraudsters twice over the use of debit and credit cards, the demise of cash gives me palpatations and any way, I like the feel of a wedge - loads of money. Andy
The demise of cash is the end of privacy as we know it, are we chattels of the state or are we free citizens ?
Well duh. Chattels, or at best, assets of the State. Control is the endgame - complete control. Now, ask yourself, why? Why is end-to-end, cradle-to-grave control of the general populace desirable? Who benefits? * * If you answered this question "Everyone!", slap yourself upside the head with a cricket bat that has had six-inch nails hammered through it
this shit was reinforced when me an jenc tried to find a parking spot whilst visiting aircon... whats the connection? even in london where i have lived and worked and payed all my taxes for 13 years i cannot park in a tax payer owned area unless i have a money card (with money on it) and a mobile phone (with credit on it) despite how much cash i have in my pocket.. been discussed here before and alot of the new breed of bikers on here that are "friends" of the state cant see the prob but at the risk of sounding like speed trip i think in time you will... next bottle pleeeaaase
you know it.. cant even use it on a bus.... but hey some like the convenience of the powers that be knowing every move they make.. it will keep you safe
My hsbc debit card stopped working on the BACs delayed payment thingie the other day. Had to use a different card after my 3rd attempt to gain petrol on realizing it was saying my card was declined (although funds were available). The governments know billions are spent in the black-market culture of each & every nation on drugs, prostitutes & such like. You'd be mad if you think cash it going to disappear. Because the elite are not going to want a paper trail of receipts to ruin there despotic fun.
are you in favor of a history of every transaction you make? and every transaction costing a fee? a fee like all other bank/government/insurance company fees that has no bearing on the real cost of said transaction? unregulated yet compulsory?....
i get charged for having a cash machine. i get charged for depositing cash, people get the hump because i wont take american express. honestly who runs this country.
