1200 DVT Dyno Comparison - Standard V Termi Exhaust

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by tobers, Oct 6, 2015.

  1. TomTom, do you have a graph comparing a 2013/14 Multi to a DVT bike?

  2. Yes, tomorrow as its in the dyno shed.
DVT makes more top end but lacks at 5k, sort of the other way around of what you want.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  3. APP meaning?
    What changes has been done?
Again if you choose SAE correction numbers it will not go up with weather changing or down for that matter. It will render lower readings though which most people wont like ;)
I did try the last DVT with setting five on traction and wheelie control on and no difference to shutting them off completely.

  4. That would be interesting if you are able to post something up.

  5. @TomTom "APP" is the Ducati app that you use with the Ducati link.
I personally always thought the DVT lacked over the 63 Plate low and mid range as well would explain your comments on the readings

  6. Sorry that is news to me, 63 Plate low and mid range, what is that?
DVT has got the big throttle of 1198? That would confirm they are aiming at numbers only, as its not a wise idea.

  7. Looking at profs graphs, the AF is terrible! Thats where the issue is. Won't solve that without a PC5 or a custom map.

Guessing, with DVT the usual timing set up that aids most ducatis is redundant.

Be really interetsed in a properly set up one, on the numbers as described by Tom it could be good for over 150

  8. He's talking about the phone app ducati produced that links to the DVT via bluetoth and gives stats. Suggest is calculatng bhp based on 160 at optimum revs, wide open throttle, then works backward to where the throttle against revs are

I have to say bottom end the dvt is gutless compared to the last model. Or so it seems by the arse dyno

  9. A phone app? ok hehe. If electronics is your thing then so be it, if real life drag race is, you need to change sides.

  10. How bikes make you feel is far more important than what it says on any dyno.

Would love to see a standing start drag race between a DVT and a 2013-14 Multi. There seem to be many conflicting opinions on which would be quicker.

  11. I think the old one up to 60 / 70

  12. The AF on Profs graphs are really rich where the torque is dropping off - probably not a coincidence - but this would seem strange with the good fuel consumption and search for lower emissions.

But it would suggest this would respond well to a full tune and ECU adjustment to correct Fuel / Air ratio.

Maybe its time someone went to CJS in Bristol??

  13. I think mine 'cause it's black, and they are the fastest :upyeah:
    DVT's don't come in black... ;)

  14. This is the only video I could find on youtube that shows tow bikes together but it seems that every time the Pikes Peak rider winds the throttle on hard as it comes out of a slow corner, it leaves the DVT behind.

  15. Not having a dig at the DVT by the way, i really wanted to test it and go buy one but i'm just a bit confused as to why Ducati made it either slower at rpm, or at the very least, feel slower.

  16. When did they make a grey dvt?

  17. you cant trust a video like that

I can tell you that it doesnt seem to have that urge, but....you check the speedo and you are going real quick. Should be at the multi run next weekend, reckon we could test that!! Up for it if anyone else is?

  18. 63 plate is a UK number plate - he means a 2013/14 model year bike. 63 plate were from Sept 2013 to Feb 2014

  19. It is not really slower, but to get the performance out of the DVT you have to ride it very different, more like a sports bike to keep it in the power, as many have stated once it hits like 6k it goes like a rocket, hence holding higher gears, for me personally that is not want I wanted out of the DVT, I thought it would be closer to the old one on the low down grunt, it is now with the Termi in my view.
The new DVT is a fantastic bike, better in pretty well most ways than the older one, and my reason really to upgrade was seat height. so I was always prepared to lose a little and gain far more.
