Channel 4 7.30 - 9.00pm. Should be well worth watching. We saw it fly at RAF Waddington for the first time after it's overhaul. Magnificent & emotional. Guy Martin: Last Flight of the Vulcan Bomber - Extra: Guy Martin's Vulcan in Flight - All 4
Love the Vulcan, nothing I've ever heard comes close to that doing a low fly by. It's a Damn shame that out of all the taxes paid,we can't find enough to keep it flying, if nothing more than for national pride
It's already well over its hours... if it fell out of the sky there would be hell to pay. Sad as it is, without major investment from new backers it's best this way. Besides, Guy needs to get Concorde back up in the air!
I have never been into planes but that has just bought a tear to my eye what a beautiful sight and what a damn shame it's grounded gave me goosebumps watching the last flight I love Guy Martin he is cool and he can turn his hand to anything
Thoroughly enjoyed that and quite emotional, I have seen it fly quite a few times over the past few years and I cannot get enough of the noise it makes ! Superb
There is talk of the same "to the skies" team attempting to do the same thing with a Mosquito, which would be good... Used to see Vulcans (and Victors and Valiants) all the time "when I wur a lad" as I lived quite close to RAF Finningley. It's sad that there won't be one flying anymore but, as shown on the programme, she's an old lady and is getting very tired; better to let her go out on a high than wait for something to go wrong. "Don't be sad it's over, be glad it happened"
As Guy Martin said you can build a Spitfire in your shed, the same is true of a Mosquito, one of the most beautiful planes ever built, but not a Vulcan.
Maybe a tad "off topic" and also controversial regarding the company and subsequent death of one of its pilots BUT this IMHO is a pretty cool piece of video on the Lightning
