I purchased a Ducati Battery Charger to keep the 1299 ready to crash out at the drop of a hat. Well feck me thats an awkward connector. Probably going to keep that lead attached and hopeflly it will fit under the seat pod. Anyone connect and disconnect the 4 pin every time. Just seems a bit ham fisted, and the fitted connector does not have the longest of leads on it.
Got that charger fitted to both the Multistrada and the Diavel and they have both performed faultlessly. Chose to hard wire direct to the battery and not regretted it. The included wiring is plenty long enough and the 2 pin connector is simple. Andy
I plug mine in under the rear seat. Haven't had any issues doing so. If I'm using the bike every few days I don't bother connecting it though.
Same here, just plug it in under the seat/cowl and charge it overnight once a month now that winter is here. Had no issues with it in the year or so that ive had it.
Cheers guys, guess I will get used to it, just thought I was missing something as the connection does not feel that robust, and that is the second question answered that wasn't asked, 'if not used how long will the battery reasonably last without a charge so a good overnight charge every couple of weeks to a month should do it.
