Ok, so this is a Suzuki relate query; but I'n not changing forums just 'cause I bought a jap bike! I bought a 2010 GSXR 1000 that I'm going to run just as a track bike. It had a Power Commander 5 (PCV), dynojet Auto-Tuner(AT) and dynojet Quick shifter (QS)fitted to it when I got it. I've just bought a Bazzaz ZFi TC unit (mainly for anti high-side reasons) not realising that it comes with fuel-injection tuning and QS. So my plan is to take off the PCV and current QS and replace both with single Bazzaz box. Guessing that the Dynojet auto-tuner is specific to the PCV so will take that off too. ?? I might push the boat out and add the Bazzaz Z-AFM auto-tuner; and this is where my question lies: From what I have read, the Dyno-jet auto-tuner is just that; it remaps on the fly; whereas the Bazzaz Z-AFM module just creates a suggested map that has to be manually applied; therefore the Dynojet module seems more attractive.?? Shall I keep the dynojet auto-tuner; or do I have to swap it out? I'm a track-day rider; not a racer, but I like gadgets and the tracks I ride on can vary quite a bit (last track day was a cold & damp Donington; whereas as my next one will [hopefully] be a hot and dry Jerez. Last question: Both the bazzaz and dynojet auto-tuners use the wide-bore lambda sensor. The Akra pipe I've just bough only has a hole for the standard sized lambda sensor. Do I change the mid pipe; or get a larger bore hole put in? Many thanks, Bob
As far as I know the Autotune/PC5 maps on the fly but doesnt 'create' a map as such until you manually apply it to your base map..... Without applying it, it just runs the autotune map at the same time as the base map to get nearest to the preset AFR So without manually going and applying you dont have a 'complete' map of your ideal tune If anyone knows better please correct me..... Also most (possibly all) of the 4 cylinder Autotunes are a generic (AT-200) unit
So if they are all based on the same generic unit; I might be able to plug the dynojet auto-tune unit into the Bazzaz main box?? Cheers Bob
Hhmmm be nice but I dont think so mate... Looking at the pics of them they look like different connectors Plus I'm sure their control box that connects to the main unit works differently ie. The Bazzaz wont self map below 3000rpm whereas Im 99% sure the Autotune does
Thanks @Jody. I took the PC 5 and auto tuner off today and ordered a Bazzaz auto tuner. Thanks for you advice. Cheers, Bob
Gsxr.com does have a few useful members, even if it is USA based. Best random pictures thread ever. Worth visiting for that alone.
First Post so be gentle with me. I had the Z-AFM bazzaz system on my track 675r. The autotune worked pretty well and I built maps with and without a baffle. In fact I still have the Z-AFM box that I am selling if your interested. Sorry if this post is against the rules. Its all going to go to my 899/1199 fund though Cheers Bazzer
@bazzeruk i've already ordered a Z-AFM, but thanks for the offer. Impulsive buy with wine: I should have looked around for a second hand unit... Don't think there are any rules on this forum... Sometimes people get a temp; ban but nobody ever knows why... Cheers, Bob
The only thing I'd be worried about with a used unit is the sensor is only rated for a certain amount of hours use (50 i think)....I seem to remember there being no guarantee on them even from new either..... EDIT.... Autotune sensor has no guarantee from new, cant see for Bazazz and Bazazz sensor estimated 500 hours on unleaded
No worries, I sold the bazzaz unit but still had the Z-AFM. I should get round to putting it on Ebay but lazy Mine did about 8 trackdays so about 16 hours I guess. Cheers Bazzer
