  8. Got stressed, took 996 for evening blast. Stopped at edge of 30 zone for a time to let a little old lady slowly get past a line of cars. Mr Plod came thundering up behind and followed good and close for a few mins, was sure I was done for. Didn't get pulled, took it easy for a bit. I'll never get bored with how the 996 sounds.

  11. Pub time!!! :D

  12. Just changed the front core plug on the Benelli (yup, I am lucky enough to have one of the few with a front as well as rear core plug) having changed the rear one last week (brass now)

Glad I did as the plug was paper thin! Fortunately the front one is easier than easy. Put the replacement water pump on and bled the system down, all good now. Booked the Ducati and CBR in for MOT's next weekend, now having a quick bowl of bulkan blend before going back into the house to tax the CBR and Ducati, as both run out tomorrow.

  13. Popped to shops to get the lad some b'day gifts. Took 999 as "it will be quicker as I won't need to park in the multi story". Got a little lost on the way home, ended up in Aylesbury OYB, good chat with another 999 and 749 owners, did 80mls, (fuel light came on at 74, seems low?) and lefty touched down. Got to say, the 999 is very easy to ride very quickly.

  14. After the success of yesterday, today has turned out to be a 'mare. Fitted the new battery and regulator/rectifier to the NC29, turned the key and ......... nothing. Lights are on but no pump or starter. Found a 10amp fuse blown so hoping for a quick fix, new fuse, turn on, pump primes and ........... nothing. Checked the fuse and it's blown again. Time to elliminate possibilities so go searching for the fuel pump. Thankfully it's not in the tank but Honda couldn't have found a less accessible location under the carbs and in front of the rear suspension linkage. Poke, prod, bugger, both wires pull out of dodgy crimped connections and the wires have been taped using sparky's tape so it's all manky. Strip out, heat shrink, new connections, more heat shrink, stick the wires across a battery and ....... it's not the fuel pump coz it works fine. Starter motor next only I can't find it and I've had enough. Beer, food, WSB and a sofa with Carole but not neccessarily in that order. Given the cooked battery and rectifier at Almeria, it could be the generator, oh deep joy. Andy

  15. Done a few messages, the usual, diesel in the car, petrol for the lawnmower. Called with the garden centre, another bag of weed killer and the lady walked passed with a massive bunch of flowers looking at me saying ah you like them. Come on now, we all like flowers!
Paid for the bag of killer and about 2 mile down the road I thought, shit wifey loves flowers. Drove on a bit, crap, back I went, paid, back home, wifey is smiling. How can a few flowers make someone so happy, simple things I suppose. I think its my age, I'm a selfish, self centered waster, but, I think I'm learning, very slowly learning.
