Should I Choose Duc 08 848 Or 2013 Mv F3

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by vlavot, Jul 11, 2016.

  1. Dear fellow forum people.
I have had a topic earlier about another difficult decission.
    This is yet another one.
So my gsxr 750 07 with lot of mods is getting sold soon.
My first option for buying another bike was and still is 1098 or even 1198. But beeing our country there are not alot of options out there. So i had to settle for a 848 08 bone stock white with 13.000 km 8000 miles, from a 1 st owner, he basiy had the bike sit in his garauge the whole time. In mint condition.
Or MV Agusta f3 675 2013 white 4000 km, 2400 miles. Basicly new from a 1 st owner mint condition.
The price difference is arround 600 euro, so it is not a problem.
My heart tells me the duc, but mind tells me the newer more electronicly advanced f3.
I am affraid that both bikes will feel underpowered to me compared to my gsxr 750.
I love the sound of the L twin ducati soooo much and really hate the 3 piston sound of the mv, But have read that the bearing tends to go off in the 848.
I will not race either bike or take it to the track, just a canyon blast, and every day street riding.
Just wanna hear your opinions which one would you choose?
    Thx.

  2. Have you seen my 1198 in the sale section??

  3. Ah, yes, it is sex, unfortinatly I am from Macedonia :( UK is very far will cost a fortune to ship it plus tax and vat

  5. If you don't like the sound of an mv, I'd probably go for the 848. Although they are both very special and beautiful bikes. Me, Personally mv, I'd never get tired of opening the garage and seeing one of those. But..... You're on a ducati forum, I think the vote will go to the ducati!

  6. Ate they the same price? If so that's all you need to know....MV good luck at lest with the 848 you can get parts

  7. Well, 848 sells for 7600 euro, f3 sells for 8000-8200 euro, money difference wont be a problem at all, but the year difference makes me wonder. My heart is settled for the 848 but i can not ignore the 5 years younger f3,but 675 it is just too small. Will be even slower than an 848. Ah decissions, decissions, first world problems :)

  8. Not sure it will be slower, given a 675 in stock trim is quicker round track than an 848. But 5 yrs younger and same price...either one is over priced or the other under.

  9. I think the f3 is underpriced. However there is an option for a 1098 2009 14000 km on it, almost bone stock. Will turn out arround 8900 euro. Dont really know if i should get the bigger bike. And dont really know if the odometor and the milage are true.

  10. My last bike was and 848 streetfighter and I loved it, having had 3 ducatis and an aprilia before I was hooked on twins. I traded it for an 800 Brutale RR and was worried if it was the right decision, but 18 months in I don't regret it for a moment, the brutale is mental for an 800, lots of fun. You wont regret either really.

  11. My last bike was an 848 and I absolutely loved it.

The damn sound of the thing. There isn't another bike that sounds like it. With termignoni pipes on it the thing sounds like a fucking dragon.

The low down torque is borderline insane. It even has more low down torque than my 1199.

    Such a fun bike

  12. Thanks guys, you are great, I have just bought the 848, 08, with 8000 miles on it. Ah the sound and looks are...
I get sol much attention, this is my very first Ducati, bike is bine stock.
Wanna add the new looking termignoni with the dp ecu on it and k n air filter.

  15. Looks stunning, I love them in white.

It's very handy that you don't need number plates in Macedonia

  16. :D I see what you did there.
Number Plates are way to big and chunky in our country, so we chose not to use them.
