1299 2017 New Model Superbike

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by JohnR, Sep 27, 2016.

  1. Regardless of what this bike is or isn't, the biggest problem I'd have is being able to stomach buying a bike for 80,000€. Which would have cost me about £55,000 twelve months ago but is now going to cost £72,000. And when all this brexit bollocks is forgotten about and the pound recovers £17,000 of my money has vanished into thin air. One things for sure its not going to be a good investment bike if you're buying with sterling.

  2. This is the biggest factor for me too - the SL1 at £54k was the best they could build at the time. SL2 is the best they can build now, 3yrs, a bit of inflation and sterling taking a bath = £18k.

  3. It's called "taking back control", silly!

  7. a bit harsh...
or thou it was a bit arrogant from ducati to ask people for £15k without telling anything about product. so obviously they are pitching to right public

  8. Not Very Nice What Was Said (Buy Hey What Do i Know )

  9. yeah I am sorry I apologize .. I just don't see the point in doubting my words .. just as I don't see the point in criticising Ducati for the price .. superleggera was 66000 euros .. this one is 80 .. do I think it's worth the extra 14.000 ? you bet .. Ducati 's objective is earn alot of money .. they do their job well .. would I sell my Pani R for a 1199 Superleggera? NO ..

  10. i Agree its just the way you said it, I'm not sure what I'm doing i personally think its over priced i have a SL would i buy SL2 who knows not sure
I think for me common sense tells me to wait until they bring out a new model which will be light and fast all the electric gizmos lol which will be a R-Model for less than than the new SL2.

Knowing Ducati about £28k to £30k no more and some people will want to do track days on the SL2 GOOD LUCK lol.

Ive brought a R1M for the track EXCELLENT bike there is no way in hell that i could take my 1098R,SL1,Desmo.998R.Even close to a track they are way too loud lol.

So good luck with SL2, abroad i would think should work but in the UK ????

So for me the jury is out lol.

My heart is telling me yes but my head is telling me NO lol.

So my other option is too wait until someone sells there SL2 and I'm 100% positive they will lose money and i don't mean that in a horrible way then hopefully i will buy it a bit cheaper.

Im just NOT getting caught up in the HYPE and the PROJECT 1408 lol carbon fibre give me a break lol

  11. this will be the LAST 2 cil Ducati SBK .. what happened with SL1 will not happen in this case .. don't ask me why .. I just know 100% :)

  16. i think ducati lost the plot. don't get me wrong, i have spent money stupidly in the past. ($10k in one go on black in Vegas for example) but i sort of knew what i was doing. but to ask someone to give £15k deposit for something they will only show you after you paid is very arrogant so say the least.
i am SO GLAD now i wasn't on the lucky anniversaro owners list and got my deposit back.

  17. i agree with you Yev

  18. I'd have bought a scale model from the shop if I was on the invite list. Ducati need me to buy shit.

I have just decided never to buy another Ducati product. Corporate marketing bullshit factory.

I wonder what's for sale in 2018 :Bucktooth:

  19. That was not the information explained to me when I inquired about it with my dealer. I stated if I dropped a deposit down that I wanted to see it visually and get the specs first. If all of them are spoken for before its unveiling then whatever. People seem to be going nuts over this thing, it's no doubt going to be a great bike but the deposit up front without seeing it..come on.
