  1. I like the look of the white number board on the SPS.Have any one bought one from the Chinese suppliers, and what was the fittment like, paint quality etc.I have red Oem a monoposto seat unit so will use the brackets, not sure if they come will the metal mesh though.cheers

  2. Hi. I bought a complete set inc monoposto seat just to use for trackdays. The quality is perfectly fine - not brilliant but not bad and certainly no cause for concern. Some of the fittings were a little off and required some pushing/pulling, but once on, it fits and looks fine.
Happily try and find which fleabay trader it was if you want but I am guessing they all come out of the same factory.
Just to add, there was no wire meshing over any of the vent holes.
    Hope that helps ?

  3. Yeah thanks for that mate,I see Gotham motorcycles does the mesh, will just need painting white.

  4. The only thing you should ever buy that's Chinese comes with Singapore noodles and prawn crackers - even then you should fully check the supplier out!

  5. You can make the vents yourself using Aluminiium bridging mesh from makers such as Plastic Padding etc. Available from places like Halfords it works out a lot cheaper than buying a genuine set.

I have used this method for both front top fairings and the panel and seat vents on a number of spare panels I have collected over time for the 748/9** range.

  6. IIRC both @domRusty and @Kingfixer both bought Chinese fairing for tracking but both were so good they keep them on the bike full time.

  7. Does the small size of the holes not mess with the air intake to the airbox?

  8.

  9. The size of the mesh varies and I particularly use the mesh made by Plastic Padding, which I purchased in bulk some years back, so I am not certain that it is still in production. The holes in that are virtually identical to Ducati vents\mesh and I have used them for a number of years and no problem has arisen. I mould the fairing top vents around a spare set of originals to get the exact shape and fit.

The answer would be to take a sample along to compare with a potential purchase to see if the holes are big enough, as mesh with too smaller a hole could compromise airflow in the fairing section.

As for the rest of the bike I would take that as being more for cosmetic reason as full race seats on the 748/9** range don't have vents even on the genuine RS seats.

Domestic radiator cover vent mesh can also be used if you want really big holes in the fairing vents of the flat style fairings. I got mine from B&Q. Gold is also available! again a close match to the originals and a fraction of the price. Use aviation snips to cut to shape.
