Clutch Engagement 899

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Neilkemp89, Mar 18, 2017.

  1. I have just put new clutch fluid into my bike, followed all the steps, bled the air out the system now when I have went to engage the gears I can get into first but now I can't select Neutral or any other gears. Has anyone else had this issue? Do I need to re-bleed the clutch in case there is an air bubble in the system somewhere?

    Any help appreciated

    Thanks
    Neil

  2. Did you bleed the mc and slave cylinder? the slave cylinder actuates the push rod to the clutch.

  3. The slave cylinder is the bleed nipple that is near the rear sets? And the master cylinder is the bleed nipple on the clutch lever ?

  4. Yeh thats it there is also one on the clutch if i remember correctly by the leaver?

  5. Yeah I have tried from both, maybe I haven expelled enough of the air.

  6. bleed the slave first till you get bite then bleed the top nipple also the one on the leaver.

  7. Will give it a go tomorrow.

    Appreciate your help
    Thanks

  8. I fitted a stm skipper to my 899 recently and also bled the clutch. When I fired it up I rode up and down the drive and like you couldn't select neutral. I thought it strange but let the bike warm up and then it became fine. Possibly just need to be warm

  9. That's weird...
