1199 Ducati 899 - 959 - 1199 - 1299 Modifications - What Have You Done To Yours?

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Rob Jarvis, Jun 30, 2015.

  1. It obviously isn't a perfect solution. Because this vinyl has a grain, they cannot really do it in one. So it is done in 3 pieces (you can see it better in the photo below). But it almost looks like it is supposed to be like that. Like you, I was going to strip and brush effect my tank, but I had 3 issues: 1) the sheer time and effort to do it (having read some threads, the finish on the tank under the paint isn't great, so takes a lot of work. 2) I could put the red road fairings back on and remove this tank wrap back to the Red tank if I ever needed/wanted to. 3) I wanted to bond some tank protectors on, and this way I'm bonding them to a wrap, so will not have such a problem eventually removing them. For me, at £80 it was a no brainer. Not sure where you're based, but if you're ever in Northants and want a proper look, let me know.

  2. Well for £80 you're right it's a no brainer. Below is an 1199R tank which was done when I bought it.. Not fitted it yet, as looking for someone around the north west to wrap some race panels.

I'll bring it with me when I bump into you next Mr C. :)

  5. Had an 1199r toggle switch fitted to my 1299 so I can alter the TC setting whilst riding. It only works in race mode, just adds something extra to the riding experience.

  6. Fitted a light tint screen and vinyl wrapped the front end to add a bit of protection, upgraded the standard bulbs to match the led sidelights, pro grips and dp bar ends

And a dp comfort seat and full six carbon under tail section.

  8. Would love them on my 899 but don't believe it's possible..

    Very nice indeed

  9. Does that only come on the 1299S then? I assumed all 1299 all had it.

  10. Thanks Adam
Everything is possible ... it's the cost that sometimes means NO..:upyeah:

  11. Had these fitted over the winter, amongst a few other bits and bobs.

  12. I just bought a set of them today

Any reason why your spindle is in the opposite way? The nut sould be on the sprocket side

  13. Thanks for pointing that out. TBH not sure why that is, I'll see if I can find out tomorrow.

  15. I would get some new disc bolts, I was desperate to try my new wheels and the bolts all chewed up whilst torquing them down which ment a few days wait for new titanium bolts to arrive

  16. I got stainless bolts as part of the package

Been a busy boy. New chain and sprockets fitted swapped tyres over to new wheels and fitted I bike.

  17. Where did you get the swingarm covers from, I can't find any online?

  18. Done a few little jobs,

Ohlins TTX GP rear shock fitted along with the front inserts.... set all the pre loads and started working on the settings for our roads round here (sunny Yorkshire). Been a challenge but yesterdays ride was the best so there about there now (very happy with the results so far).

Also been working on some rear sets for it, as the gear shift seams to have a long travel (or its my stumpy feet) I've changed it to GP shift pattern ages ago so as the parts were on the bench i decided to reduce the ratio of the shifter, Basically welded a lump on the end of it and re machined it to move the fixing 10mm further up... blimy that works well! an upshift is just a tap of the toe now much much better. I'll use that ratio for the rear sets im making

I'll take some pics of the mod if any of you want to do it yourself...
