1199 Get Rid Of Red Wheel Stripes???

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by MaxDec10, Apr 23, 2017.

  1. Of course, I understand it's subjective but I've never liked the red wheel stripes on my bike. As they're not stickers so cant be removed. Believe me I've tried! Any advice or tips on the easiest way to black the wheels out like the R. Does adding black wheel rim stickers look a bit naff?

    Thanks M

  2. Buy some black rim tape and put it over the red. Easy job for a couple of quid. That's what I did and you can't tell:upyeah:

  3. Spot on big M. I'll get some tape ordered then. Was it just cheap Ebay stuff or branded gear?

  4. No just cheap eBay stuff. Can't just remember off hand what it cost but it wasn't expensive and it's been on for a couple of years now and hasn't lifted at all.

  5. Easy alternative now that somebody else has suggested the black tape fix...
Exchange your wheels for a set of shiny black CARBON BSTs!

    (I'll get my coat, shall I? :))

  6. @razz I've actually considered that option. What's the damage for a pair of Carbon BST's?

  7. No idea, sorry! I quite like the red rim stripes on the 1299S forged wheels. I fitted some gold wheels from a 1098R to my 1098S when I had it. Now those I really liked...

  8. @MaxDec10 bst wheels about £2600 a pair.
