Supersport S Insurance

Discussion in 'Insurance - Sponsored by Ducati Insurance' started by Steven, Apr 26, 2017.

  1. Hi I have put down a deposit on a Supersport S, but thought I better check the cost of insurance.
Typically I have been paying around £130 for a BMW R1200RS and a little less for BMW R NIne T, however none of the online companies seem to have the Supersport listed. The only one I have found is Ducati Insurance where they wanted £1500
I have 2 bikes one with 9 years NCB and one with 1 year both with Hastings, I called them but they need a registration number to work out a price
Even with Multibike from Ducati insurance I am over £800

Is anyone else having problems or has some advice
    Thanks in advance
    Safe riding

    Steven

  2. I was quoted £175 fully comp with Ducati Insurance.
There is a problem with this bike as it doesn't appear on insurance listings.

  3. Had simular problems with my desert sled, could not get a renewal quote with bennetts because the bike is not yet on the system, they could quote me on a icon because it's been around for a while, in the end I had to do a go compare quote and there were a few company's with the bike listed so went with Hastings in the end.I have a multi bike policy with Ducati insurance but it was cheaper with Hastings as a stand alone policy than to add it to my multi bike policy, one years no claims with Hastings and 10 years no claims with Ducati, work that out .

  4. Hi I found that as well it was cheaper with 2 separate policies than the multi bike. Although with the second bike I had to start with zero no claims benefit. Not sure if multi bike works

  5. If I could get something like that it would be great. To be honest it's that kind of figure I was expecting so came as quite a shock with the Ducati quote

  6. Just got my cafe racer insured with Hastings, cheaper than adding the bike to my multi policy with MCE, £112 fully comp for 4K miles/year :)

  8. I had a test ride 4 weeks ago and loved it, was ready to order but insurance has been a real stumbling block. Initial quotes (when I could find someone who would quote) for the standard model were over £1000, Ducati Insurance wanted £1495. I'm 47, 10yrs + NCB, clean licence and live in the countryside and bike would be in an alarmed brick garage. Dealer put me onto DMC who initially got it down to £800. I am currently paying £220 for my 2014 VFR. There's not a huge difference between the bikes when you ride them back to back and they both have a similar amount of expensive panels in event of an off . I've now after many phonecalls got it down to £390 but it's still around £150 too much for what it is. I'm leaving it for now to see what happens when it gets on the database. My own insurer (cornmarket) went to the underwriters who are rating it same as a CBR600RR

  9. Looks like its starting to appear on others websites now but instead of a silly price I'm now getting a reply saying they cant quote online and need to phone them, perhaps you will have better luck.
