Schuberth E1 Helmet C/w Coms Feedback.

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by Gordon Watson, Apr 30, 2017.

  1. Any one using the Schuberth E1 lid, reviews are good but any feedback from anyone possibly using it with the SRC-System Pro that integrates with the Lid would be great.

    E1 - Schuberth

  2. No but I've had a SR1 and now a SR2 and the fit and quality is great - had most the other major makes and Schuberth my preferred choice

  3. Wow. I have bought bikes cheaper that that!

  4. I bought the E1 and Sc10U, used it a couple of times so far and more than happy with it. The Hunter Red one works well with the Multi PP scheme and in answer to Paul's next question, I got them cheap on fleabay as the seller had used them for 2 hours coz he felt he had an Arai head :grinning:

  5. The helmet is great. I've got the coms kit, but not yet fitted it.
The peak is absolutely crap at anything above motorway cursing speed, so it will help protect your license.
Mine bent so much when making progress that it obscures my vision. It actually came off one side.
My Arai tourx was much much better right up to and above 130mph, where legal.

  6. Ive had and E1 with SRC for a while, its the best lid Ive had when riding the GS and for tutoring/commuting/bloodrunning. I don't wear it on the Panigale as I probably wouldn't be able to see where I was going.

  7. I put it on to take the 749r for an MOT and had a letter box 2mm high... had to change to another lid.

  8. Cheers for the feedback, the red on the lid is close to the Ducati red.
Mmmmmmm I was going for white until I seen your pic:grinning:

  9. Anyone know how they compare size wise with Arai?

I need to mail order as no local dealers to me that I know (Newport)

My Arai X4 is large 59 to 60 - and is slightly tight - but OK

The Schuberth L is 58 to 59 and XL is 60 to 61

I am thinking XL - Guardian Red.

The comments on the Peak worries me though - is it really that bad that you can not go fast (on track of cause)

    Comments please.

    THANKS

  10. It took me a while to get the peak in the right position, now it is it doesn't cause me a problem.

Personally I would not buy a helmet on line as it's fit not just size. My Schuberth was tight for at least a couple of weeks, but is now by best fitting lid. I'm only keeping my others because I need a different lid for the Panigale.

  11. My Arai RX7GP is a L -59-60 cm

My Schuberth E1 is an XL 61/7-5/8

  12. Thanks

I prefer also to try the fit - but not so easy if you don't have a local dealer.

  13. M&P in Swansea sell Schuberth @Simon Audi

  14. Simon.... where are you?
I'm at Heathrow.... size XL or 60-61 and it's in Red/white (matches my PP).
You could borrow mine for a quick blast M4, M25 and M3 it would take 25 mins.....
You wouldn't buy one if you did a brisk ride on an unfaired bike.
If I had the knowledge I have now I would not have made this expensive purchase. The peak is so bad I'm thinking of strengthening it with fibre glass.

  15. I am in China right now - but live in South Wales and come in and out of Heathrow regularly.

I want it for my Multi and Scrambler

My Arai X4 is getting bit tight and I like look of this - I have both Multitec and Neotec from Shoei

Perhaps I should save my money??

  16. Nice of you to offer to lend the helmet and the bike though!!

    THANKS

  17. I have an Arai X4 in XL and the E1 is XL. I find them both a good fit, the E1 was tight across the forehead but after a bit of very light pressure with a spoon along its length its now spot on

  18. Jim....
Do you think my comment on the peak is fair?, after all we have both the same helmets and head size... albeit yours is a lot higher in the air.

  19. I just read this on UKGSER

"To cut a long story short, I wanted a new Schuberth E1 lid so after negotiating the sale of a kidney, I looked around for a good price. A lad on the GS Europe page on arsebook had recommended a small company called Just Helmets.

I gave them a call and after a chat with Pete the owner reference sizing, I ordered the helmet online. Pete had said that if it didn't fit, just send it back and as long as it hadn't been worn in anger, he would give me a full refund.

So, the lid arrives in a couple of days in a well packed box. As I suspected, it was a little bit tight and as I was off to Scotland for 5 days there was no way I was going to risk wearing a tight lid. Chatting with another Tosser reference sizing I decided I would send it back and get a larger one.

I rang Pete and said what I'd do and I would send it back and order a larger one. I was happy to pay for the larger one as long as he gave me a full refund on the small one. I tell you what, he says, I'll send a larger one and when you've tried them side by side, I'll get the one you don't want collected by DPD. This means I have paid for one but he was sending me another one without payment. Are you sure? I asked, yep no problem says he.

Anyway, new one arrives and fits beautifully so I call the guy to arrange delivery back. I was happy to pay but he said he would rather have it collected by his usual courier at his own expense! As it happens, I'm close to his place tomorrow so will drop it in to him saving him a few quid.

I have to say the customer service level is above and beyond in my opinion and if you are looking for a new lid, give him a try as it's great dealing with someone who understands service and is not just in it for a fast buck. His website is www.justhelmets.co.uk and phone number 0191 653 1303. Highly recommended.

If you are after a Schuberth E1, use the code E1 in the code box when ordering and you get a 10% discount which given the price of the bloody thing makes a big difference."

  20. Paul, i've just ridden down to Moto Rapido with the visor on what I think is the lowest position and had no vibration or headshake at all or movement from the peak. I do have a carbon PP screen fitted so that may be helping with moving the air?

I'll put it up to the middle position for the ride home later and ser what that's like as when irs in the low position, it sort of too low n obscures some vision for me. Will report back later.
