Was wondering if anyone has tweeked their led blinkers (2015 dvt) as driving lights / blinkers? Blinker genie?
I know what you mean as I did something similar to one of my R1's. Difference is with the can bus electrical system... Would it throw up an error code on the dash? .
Interesting idea but I suspect this would be illegal in this country. What would work perfectly would be an led board with both white and amber leds. The white leds for the running ights, supplemented by the amber leds as indicators.
Amber running lights are legal as front marker lights in the whole of Europe, including the UK. If I remember correctly that was introduced only within about the last 6 months.
Ooh, that's interesting. So could use this. Would need some kind of led replacement for the indicators though and then you're into resistors etc Always good to have extra road presence though, to try and avoid the smidsy
No no.... the indicators stay on until you activate the turn signal switch, then it blinks! No resistors needed with the device !
A simple system that I have used in the past is to fit a 12 volt LED behind an indicator lens that has a standard incandescent bulb in it. Wire a small 12 volt cable from an ignition controlled supply to the + on the LED, wire the LED - to the + of the indicator bulb. The LED will light and earth through the indicator bulb filament, so acting as a running light, but when the indicator is switched on and the + of the indicator bulb becomes live the LED will switch off. Instant marker lights that the indicators override.
