This, just drench it, wipe it down and put the cover back on. Check it once a year.
Yes, gave it a good coating of such before putting it back together. For information the RH cover does not have foam backing.
I'd smother that area with ACF50 before refitting the covers.

Is there any reason to not use ACF50 grease on these parts ? I bought a tub some years ago and routinely dip fixings in it before assembly.
As some above, I ride all year round but not on wet salty roads. ACF50, good gear and the V4. Gotta get your monies worth out of them, we paid enough
