999 2003 999r Fila Opinion

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Ryan Glover, Feb 15, 2017.

  1. Hi all bit of advice needed. 999r fila with 5500miles 2 owners only serviced at local garage. Been stored for 6years has the 2 plaques, cover, all original parts plus extras, only thing missing is original stand. Is £12000 a good price? Cheers guys

  2. That the one in Fermanagh?

  3. Yes do you know it?

  4. If all checks out with history it's a v.good price :upyeah:

  5. Don't know it but she looks mint and the price sounds good

  6. Thats 1 of my issue's no history

  7. No stamps even from the independent dealer? Does it have service book at all?

  8. I saw this bike on web yesterday, looks nice. Cant be too many in Ireland.

  9. Yes has service/handbook but with only 2 stamps. Cause for concern?

  10. The only 1 apparently brought in by millsport

  11. Would be all the money here if imported and lack of history. Is it private sale. Maybe the local garage can confirm servicing?
You can always offer less. Do you know Robbie at Moto Technic in Dublin?

  12. Do you want to ride it or invest in it ? If you want to ride it, budget £1200 for a major belt and valve shim service by a main dealer and ride it. If you want to invest in it, budget £1200 for a major belts and valve shim service and stick it in your lounge. If the 5500 miles is genuine and the bike is in original condition (as in not "improved" by a loving owner), haggle and buy it. Andy

  13. Most go to Robbie in Dublin - Moto Technic Ducati specialist - he's the man :upyeah:

  14. Yes private sale but dont know Robbie. The guy is pretty firm on price knows what its worth. It would be for riding but just the odd Sunday blast i have other bikes to ride so mileage would not go up too much. Yes i would be taking it to a specialist for peace of mind. £1200 ouch lol. Thanks for the info guys awesome

    Ring him for a quote

  16. Brilliant cheers

  17. Email the frame and engine numbers to Ducati and check its origin

I wouldnt worry about 5k and only 2 stamps...Does MOT history check out?

  18. I'd simply check:
    Is it really an R
    Is it written off
Does the bike stack up (plaques, carbon, cover etc)
    :)

  19. The easy way is to check the code card - it will tell you the destination market - here mine is GBR. As above Ducati will confirm too, but check the plaque numbers too, frame and engine. You said it has 2 plaques? Do you mean a number on the top yoke and the plaque in the red box?
