Big Colour Dilemma

Discussion in 'Supersport (1974-2007)' started by Nasher, Dec 5, 2016.

  1. Big Dilemma in the next couple of weeks.

I’m putting together a 900SS Superlight/Endurance racer project which I’ll post some images of very soon.

I’m going to get the frame, wheels, and in case I can’t find an Ali one, the steel swingarm, all powdercoated through work.

It’s a real Bitsa, but will be registered as a 1993 L reg, and the bodywork is already Red.

The Swingarm will obviously be Silver, but what about the frame and wheels?

I love the look of the white frame models, but not the Black wheels

I’m tempted to go White frame and wheels, but would have to keep cleaning them.

    White frame and Gold wheels?

    Gold Frame and wheels?

    Gold frame, white wheels?

    Silver frame?

    Silver wheels?

Daftly I’m also thinking Gunmetal Frame and wheels.

    Aaaaggghhhrrrrr

I can’t decide, and I know its personal choice.

  3. Try a Classic scheme - google old Ducati race bikes for inspiration and copy one :)

Edit - your not changing the Red so ignore that :Bucktooth:

  4. I have black frame and wheels, love it. I like the sound of gunmetal, its a bit different. Imho, any gold other than the original Ducati frame bronze looks naf.

  5. Cut your decisions in half - you love the white frame, just focus on the wheels to go with it

  6. A motif of uk conservatives past & present, you might even find yourself in the spread sheets. Or even just a list of ways describing how to avoid paying tax & convoluted speel on quietly agreed HMRC nominal payments because of your members club connections in london.

This isn't aimed at you, I am just venting nasher.

  10. that does look good.

  11. Mmm, yes, sweet with the Black Frame and wheels.

I've been doing a bit of googling and the more I look at the more I like the idea of going down my thought of Gunmetal for both.

I'll break out Photoshop later and see what I can do to mock it up.

  12. I know the body is already ready red but it wouldn't be a great deal to change that.. Not saying you should but while doing mock ups, try black body, red frame. I like Black and white but did have cagiva ( poor mans pantah) in black with a red frame and I reckon an ss would look great in that scheme..
