1200 DVT Bluetooth Problems, Hit And Miss, Recommend One That Works?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Kel, Aug 1, 2015.

  1. Not sure what it is...using scala rider G4 power set along with a HTC M8. Phone seems to connect ok. connect rider and pillion ok to the Ducati hub. But trying to play music through it, and its very hit and miss cutting in and out then just "not available " and wont play anything though the tracks are there showing but no sound...anyone give any solutions ? tried leaving phone under back seat thinking its closer to Bluetooth but still crap.
Just a bad Ducati system ? Bad Headset? Has anyone got a system that actually works? without fault?
Can you recommend a better headset that works well with the Ducati hub? the scala is very tinny sounding at the beat of times. Cheers!

  2. I have the iphone 5s, the interphone f5mc headset and the Garmin 590 satnav, all paired no problem to the Ducati multimedia system and all works without faults

  6. In my opinion your problem lies in Bluetooth interaction with your devices.
1st make sure the bike has latest Bluetooth update version 4
2nd make sure that all other devices your trying to connect to have all the latest Bluetooth updates ie: phone, satnav, and most importantly headset, the headset was my problem as to why I couldn't connect properly
Once I reaised this I bought a headset along with the helmet I could update via pc
namely schuberth c3 pro ( for touring purposes only :p )
But everything works spot on, it's definitely not a Ducati problem it's a problem with other devices your trying to connect to the bike ( Bluetooth versions )
This is only my opinion that works for me, so if there any tech guys out there... As I'm that not that tech-Ishy
    Well I try to be .... :)
    Hope this helps

  7. I had to let the Ducati media system search for my devices instead of my devices looking for the Ducati system. It all worked find after that. I hope this helps.

  8. I have a similiar issue. Galaxys S5 running lollipop. Sena 20S, Garmin Zumo 590LM. All firmwares up to date. I can do sat nav no probs as well as phone calls. but no luck with music.

As far as I can make out, its the phonebook protocol which is required as the DMS doesn't seem to read my phone book properly. The manual states that it will attempt to read track information (using the phonebook procotol stack) before playing. Else play wiil stop. Even when doing phone calls, there isn't caller ID. Also does not alert me re text messages.

I asked Ducati back in May when I collected the bike and they didn't know the answer either. But suggested the app may help.

I tried my friend's iPhone. Didn't work either.

  9. Again All works spot on now ( for me )
Music, track info, caller id, messages etc it all works as per Ducati multimedia
The only thing I found to be the missing link was the Bluetooth headset thingy once I sorted that all works bob on
But as spannerman says you must first let the multimedia system find your devices before you connect other devices
    Hope you get it sorted.
Keep posting your results and hopefully you'll get there!

  10. Krumper, you using Android or iOS?

Yes, I let the DMS find my devices rather than the other way round else it wouldn't pair.

  11. iOS iPhone 6

  12. Thks @Krumper I'll delete all pairings and try again from scratch.... Was beginning to think myself that is was a Bluetooth headset compatibility issue .....though I have the latest download from Scala I read a guy having similar problems (non ducati related) issues with his headset having spoken to Scala and tried several options gave up in the end and purchased a Sena 10 and loves it. Might be going the same way. We'll see.
As I said pairing hasn't been the problem it just seems to be the connectivity thereafter.

  13. Don't give kel you'll get there pal :)

  14. Couldn't be bother reading all the above, but I had a problem with my Scala G9 and my sat nav interrupting my music from my phone all on Bluetooth, it turned out to be when my sat nave was about to send an instruction it would send a signal to the scala muting the music for 10 seconds then give the instruction then wait 10 seconds before unmuting the music, I got a bit fed up with it so turned the Bluetooth off on my satnav, but I think there's a way to stop the devices from broadcasting to early I just cant remember where I saw it sorry.

  15. Ok so this morning deleted all Bluetooth devices.
Reinstalled phone/rider headset & Passenger and there lies the problem it doesn't like to share.
Music plays fine from the phone when only one headset is on ...but doesn't like when passenger headset appears. And that's what I want to do ...share music to two helmets from one source.
Is there anyway round this ? I noticed the Interphone f4's make a point of " music share" maybe my cardo G4's are a little behind the times?

  16. I think you might need the Scala G9X for music sharing
