Decent Paint Sprayer, Berkshire/sandhurst Area.

Discussion in 'Detailing and cleaning' started by Dee Cee, Aug 25, 2016.

  1. Hi,
Anyone know of a decent bike painter in the Berkshire/Sandhurst area?

I would like my 1098 fuel tank resprayed. Want it to be a decent finish as its for a road bike.

    Cheers.

  2. There was Altamura in Camberley, they were very good however the last I heard the owner had badly bust himself up whilst racing which lead the family to sell the business.
They used to be here. 16, Doman Rd, Yorktown Industrial Estate, Camberley, Surrey, GU15 3DF

  3. If you drive down behind Maccy D's on A 30 at Camberley (by marks n Spencer's big roundabout) there is a great painter who also specialises in bikes - it's down a little stoney lane and guys name is Ian - tell him Jim Church (car dealer) recc him - he does quality work at grounded money! Will try n dig out his number for you

  5. Hi, I can name probably 3 or 4 bodyshops around Berks and Bucks I use fairly regularly, but can only recommend one who I use on my own vehicles or for show work:
Lemass Automotive (Chalfont St Peter), 01494 874347.
I am obsessive beyond belief and for me he is the only painter to date who's work is faultless!

  9. Collected a resprayed Multistrada plastic petrol tank cover and a Diavel steel petrol tank cover (in Anniversary Red) from Image Design today. Both had been deeply scratched by jacket buttons that had lost their rubber coating. I cannot find any evidence that there was damage to either part and the whole of the covers have been polished and lacquered to a pristine finish which they have said if I have any issues with to bring them back as they guarantee their work. Definitely got a top job for the OCD but paid the price for a top job from craftsmen using quality materials. Will I use them again ? I have left my spare set of 1098R Marchesini wheels with them for a refurbish in their original paint. Andy

  10. @Android853sp are they the Matte Black Marchesini? I have one small stone chip on my front wheel but it's driving me to distraction, please let me know how you get on as I may have mine refinished,if they are that good, I am ultra fussy too I'm afraid.

  11. The 1098R wheels are a white/champagne gold and was at the time unique to the model. Reputably a pig to match even when you using the original paint, so only time will tell. Bonus is, wet paint is baked at a much lower temperature so the bearings don't have to be removed. I've given the guys until early October because that suits my current plans, so I'll be posting the results in about a month. Andy

  12. Bit of an update on my 1098 tank,

Got my tank back from image designs customs in Camberley and what a top job. All damage/scuff marks repaired and a perfect colour match with the respray. Well chuffed with the finish.

Would i use them again? Yes.
