The mystery surrounding Effenbert Liberty Racing's apparent re-entry back into WSBK competition took a new twist recently as their new website feature a mocked up picture of the Ducati 1098R with the assertion that this way going to be the bike the Czech outfit will be using in 2013. Rumours had been circulating that they were going to come back to the WSBK at the Aragon round with the BMW S1000RR as this was the bike that was first displayed on their new site.

However, that site was taken down and the BMW S1000RR removed and, since then, a new one has popped up with the 1098R in its place. Since then there has been no word as to whether or not Effenbert Liberty Racing is going to re-enter the competition this year. Lorenzo Lanzi, the former Ducati racer who has disappointed in recent years, was linked with the project however he has since denied being involved and that he did, however, turn down an offer from the Czechs. Furthermore, Jakub Smrz was also approached as possible taking a place on the team although it is rumoured that he isn't interested in move at this time.

The Czech racing team initially entered the WSBK 2 years ago in 2011 and won their first even in 2012 at the Assen round with Sylvain Guintoli leading the way. However since then they have withdrew due to many disputes and controversies with their riders and it remains to be seen whether they will be coming back although, if they do, then it appears that Ducati is their bike of choice.

  2. So, rumours and speculation is news nowadays on here. Still at least it saves forking out for a copy of MCN.

  3. These pages are open to all; if you feel you can come up with something better, don't let us stop you...

  4. Who's going to ride for them with their previous record of dropping riders and missing races. Saying that there's plenty of riders looking for a contract. The whole racing scene seems to be a bit hit and miss this year with the calendar only just finalised etc.
