1200 DVT Front Right Hand Calliper

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by fatbob99, Feb 18, 2017.

  1. Just noticed this after washing it , right hand calliper very very close to the disk , anyone else seen this , it isn't binding but it doesn't look right does it
Disk was ever so slightly warmer after a real short ride
Other side has a much bigger gap
could it be the spacers , fork foot looks straight , pads still got 1.5-2mm on them , though I'm not sure that would change the position of the calliper anyway

    Any ideas anyone ?

  2. Two possibilities: either 1. the caliper is wrongly located; or 2. the disc is wrongly located. You need to work out which it is (or get your dealer to do so) before you start changing anything.

  3. There's a chance the front axle is aligned in the forks incorrectly. Has the wheel been out? Undo the pinch bolts on the fork bottoms, pull on the brakes and bounce the forks. If it's skyhook, you'll need ignition on or engine running.
Once done, nip up the pinch bolts evenly. Only around 9Nm.
