Push Irons

Discussion in 'Other Bikes' started by d8mok, Dec 2, 2016.

  1. 3 but I did only buy it last weekend.

I've done 4000+ on the cycles this year
Motorbikes, about 1200 on track and 1600 on road.

Must admit, it's not had much use in recent years. Maybe a New Years resolution?...

  3. I had 1 of the first ProFlex 856's in the UK, back in the day when I did a bit of racing. Even had a K2 with electronic suspension which was a great idea for California but not so for the UK. I have an Ibis Mojo and Cipollini Bond now. I'll throw some photos up later
I had this colour with Girvin Vector forks complete with the original "sponge on a stick" suspension, which in the winter stiffened up all on its own due to the cold.
    I wish I'd kept it

  4. IMG_6768.JPG Here's mine, wasnt into cycling until I decided to do a Ironman... trained and completed but other than a 50 miler a few weeks after it hasn't moved. Like anything I really got into it, love the alone time but when you have a engine connected to the other bike the 848 wins every time

  8. Dean Colonel Ti, Pace RC36 100mm forks, hope C2 brakes and hubs a mixture of XT/XTR and Raceface Next LP Turbine carbon cranks. Sundry Ti bits all over it too. Pics posted soon.
I wanted to build a bike for life, that was nearly 17 years ago and it's still going strong, get's used every day for commuting and hammered across the East Lancs Moors at least once a month, brilliant.
Started with Alpinestars elevated chain stay ASR models, then an Orange X2 URT full suss which was truly horrible.
Also got a genuine Paul Sadoff Rock Lobster steel frame too but it's always felt a little small for me, so I stripped it of its Ringle stuff Moby, Rooka etc and it's 952 XTR stuff and sold it all on Retrobike.
Always fancied a 29er but owning two Dukes prevents me spending my money on another MTB.

  14. 20140720_152400.jpg wife's boardman fitted with a fox rear shock and my trek 8500.The're not used much anymore.:pensive:

  15. My late great Buddy had an anno pink Zaskar LE from the mid 90's and it was a great tool as was the Karakorum.
Done lots of big rides fully laden with panniers, handlebar bags etc. It's the only way to go.
First time on the C2C in 1999 we were amazed to see fleets of vans transporting peoples wares to their next way point, Whinlatters terrain was "challenging" with all the gear on my Alpinestars ASR.
It all got put into perspective in Alston when a Guy who looked like Uncle Albert off Only Fools and Horses and was 83 years was doing the Reivers Route on a single speed road bike unsupported.
    Brilliant....

  18. here is my all round road bike just before leaving the office on Friday afternoon resting against the stuff lined up to go to the bin (nearest I could be arsed to getting a wheelie bin in shot).

Trek Alpha 1.5 bought off ebay for the princely sum of approx £200. it has got a new back wheel (£70, after a spoke went pop one morning on the way to work), chain n sprockets (£40), Tyres (£50). hoping to keep the costs below £100/year on this.

  19. Heres a couple of my road bikes. The Shark is a 'Bitsa' I put together a few weeks ago with bits I had lying around (well thats what I told the wife). Carbon fibre with full Dura ace group set, its getting used all the time even through this shitty weather as its quick and comfortable.
S-Works Venge with Dura ace Di2, awsome bike. Then my winter bike which is a Genisis Equilibrium Ti, Ultegra Di2 and discs. Put this togeter as a 'long winter miles bike' but since I got the Shark its not done much.
I've also got a Specialised Crux CX bike, a S-Works Epic carbon and a Cannondale 29er single speed rigid which I ride all the time off road..
I probably do 9-10 thousand miles a year, enjoy endurance rides like 350 miles in 24 hours with over 7,000 mtrs of climbing in 2014. Have done Newcastle to London twice in under 24 hours (20.27 in 2015). Done the Chingles of Mt Ventoux which is the 3 routes up back to back. IMG_0297.JPG IMG_0178.JPG IMG_0337.JPG
