Remove Ethanol From Petrol

  6. It might not be down to just ethanol but fuel in general has got more aggressive over the years.

    A fair few motorcyle tanks have flexible pipes internally for the fuel cap vent and overflow. Newer fuel blends seem to be very hard on these pipes.

    In tank pump pipes are now normally corrugated plastic rather than traditional pipe on more modern bikes (to cope withe the newer fuel?).

  11. i read if you put a naked flame near the filler cap when open, you can simply burn off the ethanol in the fuel

    if carbs have issues, fit ecu and injectors [emoji5][emoji5]
     
  14. Confused? someone is - ethanol in petrol is the discussion point in fuel injected engines :)

    my mistake.

  19. so ethanol ruins non metallic tanks, even ones made this day and age?

    i wouldve thought they had found some kind if liner that would stop that
     
  20. I'm guessing the countries that make the bikes don't suffer from the same fuel probs and don't cater for the countries they export to. Can't see any other reason for manufacturing something that is destined to fail...
