749 Termi Exhaust Gaskets

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Codfather, Mar 26, 2017.

  1. Hi,
I have a Full termignoni system on my 2006 749s. It's the banana pipe version and in my haste to fit it a couple of months ago , I didn't notice the pack of black ring gaskets that the previous owner had sent with it. I have only got round to removing the pipes again, but can't for the life of me see how these would fit (a couple are slightly crushed) as things were quite tight enough without them.
Does the Termi actually use these gaskets, or are they from the standard pipes?
    Cheers
    Dave

  2. No gaskets on my 57mm system apart from the metal ones at the head flange.

  3. Thanks,
Yes, I have the metal ones at the header pipe. Should I smear some jointing paste, or leave well alone? I'm thinking that if I did put some on, they would be a bu66er to get back off again.
    Cheers

  4. Leave as is unless they are blowing like a bastard.

  5. Different system but might help; the gaskets which came with mine were U-shaped in section and fitted over the edge of the male pipe before inserting into the female side.
