Three Yellow Cables

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Flip848, Jan 22, 2017.

  1. Hi
I found a used refurbished engine for my 998. Now I 'm almost done fitting it in my bike :)
There is just one problem, the generator cable (3 yellows) has a connector on it. But wen I removed my broken engine I had to cut the cables while there was no connector but melted together.
    And that engine is sold.
Now I'm wondering if it makes a difference witch yellow cable gets connected to another?
Hope I explane this right... Does anyone know if I can do anything wrong connecting them?
    Thx for the input.

  3. The generator male/female connector is a known weakness and can melt causing damage to the bike. I have been told that it is quite common for the generator wires to be soldered to illiminate the connector. As 900streetfighter said, there is no preferred order in which the wires are connected.
