Tiny Dots In Paint

Discussion in 'Detailing and cleaning' started by Topolino, Aug 27, 2016.

  1. Noticed some tiny clear dots in a specific area on my tank tonight. Not unlike tree sap. No amount of careful cleaning or cutting paste removes them, Wondering what they might be. I did, when I first finished rebuilding the bike, have a very slight leak (soon resolved) from the front brake reservoir that caused some light misting of fluid onto this area but this was quickly removed and there was no evidence of any lasting damage. These spots have only recently appeared and are about 0.2mm or less and only visible under artificial light. They look like tiny pin-pricks in the paint but are smooth to the touch. Any ideas?

  2. Sounds like it's the brake fluid to me.
