Here you go, if you fancy a laugh. The service was actually £8,600 and that was V.A.T. exempt as the guy was from Jersey. To be fair, it did include - NOVA gearbox Gearbox selector forks Main bearings Nemesis traction control Nemesis revershift QS gear lever 1 x cam shaft Reduced mass flywheel Timing belts Brake discs Repair a scratch on the frame (which was crap and I had to re-do ) And 40+ hours labour But still................£8,600 with no V.A.T.
Nope, I think JHP did a full rebuild when putting the gearbox in, maybe they noticed some wear. It has Pistal pistons, which I guess were done when this work was completed. Pistal Pistons
iirc some of the cams were machined with their lobe centres off from the keyway, meaning they couldn't be dialled in well enough on the pulleys if someone was setting the motor up and tuning the cam timing. Yeah they're pretty those Pistal's eh...
When I put it into my local dealers for a belt service, he told me that he couldn't get his locking tools in place as the cams had been advanced (I think it was advanced), honest. JHP definitely had it on the rolling road.
Got most of that stuff but wondered if I should have gone Nova box when engine was in bits. So far so good but as I'm running quickshift, time will tell. Is the 'lightened mass flywheel' the race jobbie? I was advised against that because it makes the throttle snatchy on pick up. Is this true? Got yourself a special bike right there! Great aren't they? : - )
