  2. What's the valve check schedule on the V fours? Its every 18,000 miles on the KTMs. And there's only 8 valves to do, not 16. I was quoted £450 for the big service on the 1290.
Don't know what the Panigales are. I'm guessing about £600.

  3. Tbh i dont know yet, only got the bike yesterday and haven't read the manual yet, the guy did tell me yesterday but it was all a bit of a blur, you know how it is when buying a new bike.

  4. Dude  don't leave, it's opinions and largely banter o_O
Most on here like and have other makes, and some don't have Ducati's any more.
How many 1 make forums would leave your new bike on the Forum front page for so long, it cool here :yum

  5. Thanks buddy, appreciated...but i will never understand why some people who feel the need to be offensive and or rude instead of either 'shutting the fuck up' or just be nice through gritted teeth if needs be...if you don't have anything nice to say, say nothing.
i think this forum's fantastic. but like all forums has its trolls.

  6. Very often....moreso if it gets a regular hammering...i think most on the af1 forum tend to stick to 6k valve checks....moreso if your tracking it (some do them every 3k or less if its a track bike). Mine had one at 2k - and then i did mine at 11k (12k is the book time though) i had 3 out of spec but thats it....the problem is on v4's if you ignore the valve check the top end detonates and its new engine time...but when you do the valve check you might find theyre all in spec...its a no win situation from a cost point of view...in stark contrast my gen4 z1000 needs them every 26k.

  7. Aprilia Performance in Tamworth ( Midlands ) are very good , I have just had my RSV4 serviced there , the price for a full service including valve checks was £425. I dont think they are a franchised Aprilia Agent though.

  8. I had that just before i bought my z1000 - i was lined up to buy an s1000r - registered on the s1000r forum, test rode the s1000r (hated it) bought the zed, went back on the s1000r to explain my reasoning (totally polite and kind of keen to have some friendly chit chat) - got about 3 or 4 posts into the thread then essentially got told to fuck off....

  9. Some people's humour is often hard to understand, I can't see any trolling above, opinions and attempts at humour. Some find funny, some not, but certainly intended as light hearted.
It takes a while to get to know people via the written word as we humans need more to understand communication and the meaning behind it. Some that made seemingly derogatory comments get far more aimed at them, but it is humour based I can assure you. And if someone pops up saying they meant what they said and you are a cock: that's a joke too :):upyeah:

  17. Hello Wayne :worried:

  18. Definitely something to factor in. That puts running costs up there with 1098/1198 Ducatis.
All depends how many miles you do I guess. I've done 12,500 miles on my Superduke since March 2016 and in terms of £s/horsepower its a remarkably cheap bike to run. Fuel consumption isn't bad either. 38 mpg average.
I'm lucky to have a good KTM main dealer nearby and there an excellent independent KTM specialist too. We do have Motocorsa down here who are now an Aprilia dealer but their dealer network isn't as extensive as KTM's.

Of course once you've got that itch none of this will stop you buying the bike you're set on but it can make a big difference a year a so on as to whether or not its a keeper.
