New bolts req'd!

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Ian, Jan 1, 2013.

  1. Does anyone know if i would be able to get spare bolts and washers for the exhaust guard on a 1198 please? I've vibrated two out, and the washers seem lipped, and with what appears to be a fibre one set in too. Am i best off going to my nearest dealer? Thanks people!

    Ian.

  2. Local dealer. Lost 2 on mine aswell

  3. Yup....the dealer is the only answer really.

I loctiite'd mine in when I had the tea tray on, as you say the washer is not flat and yes there is a fibre washer in there too.

  4. 772.1.088.2B x1 Bolt

    716.1.407.1A. X2 spacer

    852.1.072.1A. X2 Washer

Thats what I had to buy to replace one that rattled out.

As Anth says loctite will become your friend.

  5. Dealer for me too when they rattled out of mine. Expensive little buggers so I loctited them in too.

  6. Thank you all. I'm a bit suprised the originals showed no signs of thread lock at all. Surely Ducati may guess that a big V twin vibrates a bit!
    Ian.

  7. My guess is Ducati may have guessed that and worked out that they can charge a kings ransom for the little buggers when they DO escape.

  8. Is the correct answer

  9. I'm going to need an overdraft tomorrow aren't I? Just for two little bolts and a few fancy washers because of my obsession with 'gotta be standard!'

  10. ian,let me know the thread and size,i will send them over for you in SS.,,,,, ;)

  11. 2 cost me £19 from the dealer I think-that's washers and all.

  12. Same here. Robbing bastards.

  13. Especially as I forgot I had some already!

  14. Think I used spare fairing screws on mine... Might be worth checking before spending that sort of loot on 3 f'ing bolts!
