After having 5 Ducati's since my 175 Silverstone 1n 1964, I have just re-joined the Club after purchasing a 2007 695 Monster. This bike is is in the process of being converted into a Track Only tool, when complete it will resemble to the untrained eye a 1980 TT2 Race Bike. Everything is going to plan with the exception of the "Black Magic" that is Electrics, but it will get sorted in time I am confident. Anyone with any knowledge of successfully removing the clocks please let me know.
Hello. Are the clocks linked to the ecu for immobiliser? If so, not sure how/if they can be made keyless. I know my 620 was so much hassle trying to, we didn’t bother. And if you smashed the clocks in a crash, you needed to source the clocks and ecu to match. Good luck with the build, get some pics up
Yes as I understand it from the witch doctors that understand the Black Magic that is Electrics. I have been told that the clocks are matched to the ECU, etc., it has been suggested that I change the ECU or even fit Carbs. As I have already spent £££ the way I will go now is to mount the Circuit Board from the Clocks in an alloy box and mount like a Dash in the Fairing. The general build is going well, and I will post some pics in the new year.
Search Desmo due racing on Facebook, they race 620 Ducati’s and if anyone has overcome the issue, it’s likley one of them has. They crash a lot...lol
Hello there Frank! I am not too familiar with making ECU changes but I've seen other forums refer people to Ducatidepot.com. They are in the states and have some racing knowledge. Maybe they can give some advice too. Another company in the states, SOS Diagnostics, helpful with ECU's, immobilizers and keys, might also have some insight. Please include a picture of bins with your bike, it is a highly desired forum requirement.
Wheelie bins and such like, mandatory in pictures posted on this forum. Just like El T calling you Dave, everyone is Dave, saves trying to remember individuals names . Andy
Oh Dear, what have I let myself in for ?, I thought my Electrics were complicated, and I thought his name was Dave !
