I hope some of you find this as insightful as I did. I have always been a faithful supporter of one of the leading brands that failed to respond to the editors, but this article has made me question my choices for the future. It is great to see some quality custom suits are more affordable than those off the shelf brands we see paraded on the MotoGP paddock. Anybody here use any of the brands that responded to the editors? Part 1... Leathers - the good, the bad and the bloody disgraceful - Superbike Freaks Part 2... Leathers (part 2) - the individual manufacturers - Superbike Freaks
I've had two sets of leathers from Scott, you just have to be patient if you order them when the racers are getting ready for the season. Crash well with little damage (to the leathers anyway )
I am lucky enough to have a custom BKS two piece suit and rate it very highly. The customer service is excellent too. Overall I can’t praise them enough. (NB that only the off the peg BKS belong to Frank Thomas and I have no experience with them).
I see the guys from 44teeth use Arc-On leathers also. So with the recommendations from guys earlier in the thread. I will consider Arc-On also.
BKS made to measure kangaroo 2 piece that I’ve had for 5 years - still as good as the day they were made and I must have done 30k in them They don’t shrink in the cupboard either Fekin expensive but worth every penny Plus nothing off the peg fits and I don’t want bloody flowers embroidered on them
The Frank Thomas brand disappeared a number of years ago, only to be revived and now owned by J&S The old gag in the trade was that the only two man-made objects visible on Earth from outer space were the Great Wall of China and the Frank Thomas returns pile......
I have a custom made Hideout suit. Fantastic quality, no damage to the suit in a 100mph highside (fakkin hurt me though). Downside is they are heavy and take some wearing in.
+1 for made to measure BKS. Got measured at the NEC a while ago by Brian and would get another set in a heart beat if mine went awol. I have a vented 2 piece and the many many tiny holes make it very cool in the summer.
I've had Clover leathers for the last 8 or so years. Made in Italy. Clover RC100 to be exact. More than one set to be precise (destroyed 1st set, nearly, me too!) So good, I bought another set. Having raced in the past and being a picky fuqqer, I've found them to be one of the best suits I've ever worn, if not the very best! Comfy immediately and superb construction. Very hard to find in UK now
When I was in the market for leathers Held where better than anything else I could find available. Superb quality.
So ..........................................................................................what's your bum look like in them
