best bike you ever owned ?

  1. RD350LC -A (Bikini faring) apart from the annual seizure, it suited my looning around.
However, the 749 I have now is unbelievable. Definately the best bike I have ever ridden (and I have test ridden some newr Ducatis too).

  2. Definitely my 998R, it was sweeeeeeeet

  3. Annual..?

    Mine were weekly:frown:

  4. Been riding since 1990 and have owned a dozen or so bikes.

VFR400 NC30 was the best handling, and such an enjoyable engine too.

But there must be some reason I've kept the Honda Bros for 16 years - a close second in the handling, entertaining v-twin engine if slightly lost at motorway speed.

The bike is now up to 90,000 miles and is still on the original clutch, engine untouched besides regular servicing. Looks a bit tatty now but is very reliable.

  5. 350LC manic!

  6. Hard to tell which was the best......... A BSA Super Rocket caff racer with a long polished ally tank and race seat, rear sets and upswept pipes; Moto Guzzi Le Mans 2 with Lanfraconi pipes and Stucci fairing; or ZZR1100......

Oddly the Guzzi and the ZZR were the most forgiving, while the Rocket would spit you off at the slightest provocation in a fast bend.

  7. Without wishing to appear predictable, my 916 is the best bike I've owned - why else would I have kept it for 14 years?...

  8. Not only predictable, but makes sense as well :upyeah:

  9. Think on balance it has to be my old 2002 954cc Fireblade. It was a fantastic bike that was so easy to ride - no surprises there ...a Honda. It handled and performed superbly, was extremely comfortable and could eat up the miles easily with a very useful tank range. It was the complete package for me, with very handy under-seat storage and the bungee hooks which made strapping on a tail pack so easy. Oh yeah - the mirrors worked too!

However, as I've said before, my 848 is the only bike that I wanted another one of, so I'm now on my 2nd one.

So, my best bike was the Blade, but I'd still have my 848 if you see what I mean. :upyeah:

  12. there is three bikes that are my best and TBH i couldnt
say which one is best as they were all great in there own
way.I loved my 91 vfr400,so much fun on that bike to ride.
then came my k1 gixer6 which was great as it was
a total thrashing bike that took plenty of abuse
until I snapped the frame lol.then the other of course
is the 848, its like the gixer but on steroids

  13. Hmmmm. I also own an RD500 still to rebuild and ride. Twice the number to seize

  14. Best bike I`ve owned?

    To ride, my Multistrada 1200s.

    To look at, my 848.

  16. Very Nice!

    Are they 1098 forks?

  17. Best 'crazy' bike ever owned was a RGV250SP. A power revving reaper of a bike; brilliant!
Fortunately survived this bike and moved onto a NC30 which calmed things down a bit, also a great bike.

  18. Thanks and yes 1098/1198 forks.

  19. Not the best bike , but the best looking bike I have owned had to be my "one off" Daytona 600
