Since i completed my last project which was a KH250, I've been missing having a project on the go, Ive never done a single cylinder and would like to, so looking at what i remember i have narrowed it down to one of these as there a lot cheaper then other singles from that time. So if anyone has one or might know of one i could be interested in please let me know, they came in Red, black and blue (i think). Thanks HONDA MB50 MB5 FULL TANK DECAL KIT
A pal of mine is looking to sell his mb5, but it doesn't need restoring. He has a huge selection of spares that may be of use to you? If you can, try to find a Swiss one. They are unrestricted (7.5bhp) and 6 speed, otherwise the USA bikes were also full power. I rebuilt one a few years back in the picture below. I used a good barrel, head and piston from the USA, as they are cheap to buy and again give full power. You also need the air box to carb rubber and the 16mm carb (or the Honda H100 18mm will do the job) They are easy to work on with no special tools needed. I rebuilt my mates one for him; new crank etc. The other one to consider is the MT5, the off road version. I also rebuilt one of these. I know I still have the original Honda workshop manual somewhere. If I can be any help if you go ahead with an mb5 let me know
Thanks for the tips Rumble, If i can find one i will be asking you a few questions for sure. I've looked at a few MT5 on eBay but most seem to have been used as field bikes and in bad condition i might consider one but mainly looking for the Mb50 in red if possible.
