Im a senior Porsche technician for the countries largest independent. Have been 20 years. You are of course entitled to your own opinion.
Turbos seem to be more reliable than n/a cars, and the wide arches give a more traditional porsche stance. Nice.
My OPC warranty runs out on the 24th and I won't be renewing. Not least because I've had a boat load of mods done. I'm looking for a decent local indy and you aren't a million miles away. Where's your gaff? PM me if you like- cheers
Cool! I did a day there in that orange GT3RS. What a mega day that was. Is it true the PDK's rarely shit themselves? They get so much stick...
surely you would of preferred a manual..... the PDK is a truly superb gearbox...and yes the cars get a lot of stick! In fact in my humble opinion across all the range of the cars you very rarely get a car smelling, sounding or feeling like they want to rest from the grief excellent engineering.
You have a Porsche senior tech telling you you are talking shit about the mechanical aspects of the cars, and you have a PDC telling you you are talking shit about the driving experience of the cars. of course it is only their opinion...but i know who i would back!
Yes mate, cause I always listen to internet heroes rather than the seat of my arse feel, and having owned and been around 911's for 30 years......Opinions vary. Can anyone really convince anyone, that the interiors of the air cooled stuff was better than the later 911's, the air cooled interiors were shocking, badly designed and built, with buttons simply thrown at the dash in random fashion, and the luggage compartments literally had a carpet thrown in there, so again, I'll stick with the WC stuff thanks. As for the mechanical's, the percentage of WC failures is fuck all, and is blown out of all proportion by internet forums, and having had several WC 911's over the years, issues have been very few and far between. There are a lot more WC 911's on the road than the AC as the popularity of the 911 grew, so any issues will be more magnified simply due to numbers on the roads. (PS, no one can ever dictate which drives better, that is literally an opinion thing of how the driver feels about any particular car, if you like PDK, then that's for you, and if you prefer a manual so be it.)
??? No idea ? Any adults here can translate these internet acronyms ? I'm just not down with the kids enough
